Legs!

Ever since I was pregnant with DD2 30 years ago I have had horrible broken capillary veins all over my legs and am wondering whether to do anything about them before old age completely takes over.
Has anyone had their legs lasered or tried any miracle cream to help with this problem?

Tegan Wed 11-Dec-13 22:07:34

You mean, like cod pieces blush?

JessM Wed 11-Dec-13 21:32:03

hmm grannylin is this the must have or maybe the must have not for us grans and nanas in this season of yuletide party-going gift-giving. Mine is in pretty good nick since discovering that it needs exercising or it hurts . No more wobbly bits. At last.
You can't beat a nice rhyming slogan can you nonu.
I still have not quite recovered from my discovery earlier this year that Asda sell shape wear - for men. What next? Makeup for men? The tattooed-on variety to avoid smudges?
God knows they (and in particular the anglo saxon variety) could do with something to make them a tad more pleasing to look at. Do you think there is a market for that leg stuff in the cycling community. Hell they must get fed up with depilating every day on that tour de france thingy.

Granny , I love their slogan,
"Our duty is your booty" !!

tchwink

Some legs take a lot longer to get to a btm than mine do! tchwink

Grannylin Wed 11-Dec-13 18:15:56

Slight diversion.... I was looking for some 'hold in your bulging tum' knickers today and came across bum enhancers. What? It's taken me nearly 50 years to tone mine but obviously now I 'need' to make it bigger. A bit like these

My legs take a sort of diversion in the region of my knees where they start to go downwards in sympathy with my bottom sad...

Ana Wed 11-Dec-13 17:59:13

Don't everyone's legs go all the way to their btms, Penstemmon? tchgrin

annodomini Wed 11-Dec-13 17:57:06

Long time since I was in Queenstown, but four years ago we went to have our legs waxed in a smart little salon in Christchurch before my nephew's wedding.

Penstemmon Wed 11-Dec-13 17:53:23

I had a colleague who had fabulous long legs..all the way up to her btm... but suffered with very ugly discolouration. She went somewhere in Eastern Europe (an ovia / ania or raine) sorry cannot remember where exactly, and when she came back was soon into short skirts.

JessM Wed 11-Dec-13 17:06:17

Hey anno it wasn't that little Spa in Queenstown NZ was it? Best place to get pampered in the southern hemisphere (esp if the Man in Your Life is out doing boy-stuff like bungee jumping or snowboarding?)

annodomini Wed 11-Dec-13 16:26:02

I've seen it somewhere, but decided
a) I couldn't afford it at the time and
b) My legs would just have to do without it
I wonder if it was in a high end salon in New Zealand where we went for a leg wax once? Or was it in San Francisco - Macy's perhaps?

MiceElf Wed 11-Dec-13 16:24:00

Well, Jess, I thought that, but I didn't want to upset my friend even further. There must be people here who've used it, just like the other stuff that's being commented on....

JessM Wed 11-Dec-13 16:01:53

Shall I do my usual sort of post and gently ask whether there are any placebo controlled trials of this panacea for legs? Oh silly me. Cosmetics firms don't share any of their research data do they, other than 73 out of 80 women agree...

Ariadne Wed 11-Dec-13 15:19:17

I've eheard of Rose Blush Mist, but I can't quite remember where...

Riverwalk Wed 11-Dec-13 13:51:36

You could investigate Micro-sclerotherapy but I think it's very expensive.

MiceElf Wed 11-Dec-13 13:47:48

Report back, please Jane, my friend would be delighted to get it cheaper, so many products are in the States, aren't they? it might help to heal the slight froideur in our friendship.

janeainsworth Wed 11-Dec-13 13:18:20

Galen I've got leg envy tchenvy

MrA and I are off to the US of A for an extended trip in January so I'll definitely be checking out the Rose Blush Mist.
Thanks MiceElf X

JessM Wed 11-Dec-13 12:25:58

Nothing like a good thick layer of fake tan is there to cheer up the old legs. I will ask my SIL's about that product. They tend to go very high-end and upmarket with their beauty product purchases.

bluebell Wed 11-Dec-13 12:22:39

But go you know if its available across the States or is it likely to a west coast thing? They can get their legs out more !

MiceElf Wed 11-Dec-13 12:14:45

So, does anyone know how to get hold of this product? It would need to be someone perhaps who visits the US of A quite often.

moomin Wed 11-Dec-13 12:05:48

Well my legs are great (if I do say so myself tchwink!) but I want to keep them looking that way, so these products could come in handy in the future. I guess you could balance out the expense against the cost of regularly buying tights.

JessM Wed 11-Dec-13 11:11:04

Oh my SIL's all use that MiceElf and I have to say their legs look pretty good when they are in their shorts at the family BBQ.

Grannylin Wed 11-Dec-13 10:55:46

I suppose it's only worth it if you have nice legs in the first place!

Agus Wed 11-Dec-13 10:30:40

Two cosmetic treatments I know of are....Sally Hansen 'Airbrush Legs' not expensive and available in Boots. Another one which was mentioned on a previous thread.....Perfect Legs from a company called Thisworks.

MiceElf Wed 11-Dec-13 10:30:33

I suppose the Americans have the answer to so many of these little problems.
