Can anyone recommend a hair dye for grey hair? I am 67 and have tried once or twice to colour my hair, but with mixed results. I can't afford salon prices.
Many thanks

I always use Superdrug basic, but I always use a colour at least one shade lighter than my natural colour so that the resulting colour is natural looking and doesn't kill my skin colour.

Hi,

I will recommend you to try the products of clinique. It's product are superior than any other brand in the market

As far as I'm aware, Clinique don't do hair colourants...hmm

I think L'oreal excellence was voted the best for grey hair in a good housekeeping poll. I must try it, I have a grey streak that is starting to wander rather.

I had my hair coloured for several years , then became slightly paranoid about roots and decided to go au naturelle ( or whatever ) Tis true it's not completely grey, but I don't regret it at all and my new hairdresser says he's 'loving the colour'

I've always used Nice n Easy, it's a good price and effective.

Why hide your natural colour? Go for an up to the minute cut from a good stylist and it will look fabulous smile

Having 2 hair problems at the moment! Hair was v. short, trying to grow it a bit longer, HATE the in between bit!

Would so much love to just let it go and see how it looked colour wise, (reckon it's probably around 70% grey? (not sure, got my first few grey greys around my early twenties shock legacy from my biological father)

I'd say go for it phoenix!
I found my first grey hair aged 11 shock!
By 36 I was predominantly grey and kept up colouring it various shades from chestnut to bright red for many years. At 60 I decided to take the plunge and had a short crop to reveal the 'natural' silver grin
I'm also growing it long phoenix, and have just about got through the in-between stage.
I do occasionally think about colouring it again, but only a blonde. I've never thought the Dot Cotton look was an attractive one wink
For now though, I am enjoying my 'silver'. I think it suits me, and I get a lot of compliments on it - from friends of all ages smile
The great thing about hair is that it grows, so if you don't like it, it's not long until you can change it!
