bath versus shower!

I have walk In Shower which I use most of the time
Occasionally I have a bath using an electric bath lift, but it's not entirely satisfactory ad the bath is a corner type, so I can't lie down full length!
Also, it has to be taken out every time DGD 's visit and then replaced!

Had to give up my bath for a shower sadly because I could not get in or out of it. Now I just love my walk in shower.

I do love a nice long bath, but a combination of knee replacements and a frozen shoulder mean that getting out of it is problematic so I usually make do with a shower. It's not the same though!

Bath every time, I love them as a relaxant. I only have a shower if I am in a hurry, covered in mud from gardening or something. A bubble bath is what I would take as my desert island luxury. I have a quick shower afterwards using the attachment on the taps, to clean the bath as much as to get bubbles off me. I dread the day my arthritickyness prevents me from having baths. In the meantime I have developed a nifty way of getting in and out which involves rolling and supporting myself on my arms, so as long as they stay strong I am ok. It's also a lot easier to get in and out before and after the water is in the bath.

I love my bath. I rarely have a shower, and dread the day when I can't climb in and out of the bath.

When working I always showered, but since retiring I enjoy a long leisurely bath each morning for up to an hour. I read and eat breakfast whilst in there , and have only dropped one library book into the water so far! I am an early riser, between 5 and 6am, so a good soak helps to pass the time before I can start disturbing the neighbours.

I think the getting in and out outweigh the relaxation factor of a bath. Plus being small, I find I slide down towards the tap end and it' s not that comfy. Shower every time BUT luxurious smellies are essential - molton brown, jo malone or the new liz earle range are my personal indulgence.

Interesting, so far it seems that showers win out over baths. Don't know if it's an age thing or that we are all so used to showers now? I think showers are a cleaner way Jingl on the whole , than having a bath, but horses for courses.Some baths take forever to run don't they [unless you have a valet?]

I hate showers and am dreading the day when my knees prevent me from getting in a shower. Showers are usually the only bit of holidays I do not like.
The first thing I do when I get home is have a soak in the bath.

I am like granjura and phoenix. I can't survive without a morning shower, but have a hot soak and exfoliate on occasions. Very good for aches and pains!

My way is supremely efficient. And only takes ten minutes. And if I have the shower head on small spray, not too much wetness to dry up.

Bath every time for me. Don't like showers at all. A deep really hot bath with lots of bubbles.

Much prefer a bath! I do use the shower but feel a bit claustrophobic in it! I do enjoy lying in the bath, with a book and a cup of tea! Lots of my books have wrinkly bottoms - a bit like me, when I finally get out of the bath ! I use the shower-head to wash my hair before I get out.

With a sponge or one of those scrunchy things, that's how!

Our bath takes an age to fill - I haven't had one for at least 25 years...

Doesn't anyone else have a bath with a smallish amount of water, and then a quick rinse off with the shower after? How can you get all your bits clean in just a shower?

Rather like granjura , shower in the morning, sometimes have a bath in the evening but not that often. Some things are easier in the shower, hair washing for example, others are easier in the bath, such as shaving legs!

My mother had the bath removed from her en suite and a very lush shower put in, has the usual overhead thingy, but also body jets in the walls that attack you on all fronts, plus sides and backs too!

Can't stand having showers. We have a walk in one with just one small shelf. The shower gel, the shampoo or conditioner invariable fall off the shelf and I am groping around on the floor with wet hair and soap in my eyes trying to retrieve them. A good long soak for me every time, unless I am in a rush.

I have a shower every morning as soon as I get up- but I would never get rid of the bath. Once in a blue moon, in the evening, I just fancy a nice hot bath and soak- and this is bliss. Might do tonight as I am aching all over with skiing and gardening, good idea. Candles, soft bath pillow- wonderful.

I long for a bath, but there is only a shower here.

Shower wins every time but I must say every now and then I do like to run a bath and have all the smellie's ready for a long soak mainly when I want to have some time on my own,lock the door and switch off the phone bliss but you can gaurentee some little person would want to use the loo or even some big person !!

We have walk in showers in the studio and in the old bit of the house but, when I'm at DD's, I have a bath every day. Not long luxurious ones usually but I far prefer it to a shower. We have thought about changing one of them to a bath (well I have!) BUT it is getting harder to clean a bath and sometimes it takes an awful lot of effort to get out. How long before installing a bath becomes a complete waste of money?

I agree Bellasnana but my days of having a bath are long gone because although I can get myself in (think of the launching of the Titanic) I can no longer get myself out so over 2 years ago I had the bath removed and a lovely shower unit fitted.

I cannot stand for long so I bought a removable stool and that is perfect.
