kirsty is lovely no matter what she wears and phil is just soo dishy. I watch every show they do, bearing in mind that I'm never likely to be seeking a house that costs a half million quid, I still love their programmes.

grin Deedaa. Their loss!

Deedaa Tue 08-Apr-14 21:34:27

I too had to give up my glittering career because I was just too bone idle to keep on with the personal trainer and the egg white omelettes. I know my public were bereft, but a cup of tea in front of the telly was so much more inviting grin grin

All the producers were just begging me, roses, but sometimes you just have to stick to your principles grin

Of course it was rosequartz grin couldn't be for any other reason.I never even glide into Waitrose without full make up, kitten heels, and careful choice of clothing [you never know who may be watching, the Style police can pounce at any time.]

I wonder if Clare Balding has a stylist or just good taste? She always looks stylish.
Some people have it and some definitely not; CB definitely has not got what it takes except a lot of money - I think that what Dollie Parton said: "it cost a lot of money to look this cheap" could apply to Cherie.

Sam Cameron always looks good but she is tall and slim.

Kirsty is curvy and I suppose should avoid anything clinched in around the middle - but I think she looks fresh and lovely. Why conform when you are happy with your look? I am sure she would dress appropriately if going to a funeral.

At least CB was not tweeting live from the funeral as Diane Abbott was.

The reason I turned down the opportunity to become a star of film and tv was because I could not be bothered to lose the extra 10lbs (or 2 stone). grin

I suspect that Kirsty wears the clothes she likes and feels comfortable in and sends the stylist packing. Why should her size or taste in clothes have any bearing on the programme, which is primarily meant to be about houses. She and Phil have a very good and witty rapport and they dispense a lot of very practical information about house buying in a pleasant manner that people will listen to and, hopefully, act on.

How many people not actually on the programme can thank Kirsty and Phil for their own successful house purchase?

I agree Deedaa Clare's coat was simple but stylish.

I don't think anyone gets their clothes wrong as consistently as Cherie Blair. On the other hand Clare Balding always looks very good. I loved the coat she was wearing for the Boat Race today.

Apparently not.

Phil and Kirsty?????

Met the owner of a very successful business a few days ago but despite her wealth she looked like a drag queen! She is mid fifties and,was dressed in shorts (good legs) low cut top displaying fake boobs. Trout pout with bright red lipstick and a very benign smile which I soon realised was down to the fact she could not move her face! Her hair appeared to have thin patches probably from extensions. She was a nice lady so why dont her friends tell her ? Is it a case of the emperors new clothes?

Soutra Sun 06-Apr-14 17:31:36

DD has a friend who served her articles in CB's Chambers and one day was saying to a colleague something along the lines of "It's not the letterbox mouth that gets me, it's the manic eyes" - and yes, CB was coming into the doorway behind her.
Somehow she survived and is a barrister today but what a close shave!!!

Kirsty's weight/size has gone up and down like a fiddler's elbow over the years. I admire her for just wearing what she feels comfy in, more or less saying 'blah' to her critics although I don't know how she teeters along in those vertiginous heels. As for CB: no words can adequately describe how ridiculous she looks. Tony should have a word in her shell-like.

NanKate Sun 06-Apr-14 16:27:22

Neither's her (CB) mouth, but that is just me being horribly bitchy. She reminds me of a letterbox when she smiles.

And before you ask I look a bit like rats' tails at times. And my rear could do with a good 10lbs off, so who am I to talk?

Yes I do like Kirsty's dresses as they remind me of the ones I wore in the 1950s, she just needs to rein them back a bit.

I was going to mention Cherie Blair's appearance at the funeral at the time, Soutra, but it didn't seem appropriate then! It was a very odd choice for a woman who must know her legs aren't her best feature...

Soutra Sun 06-Apr-14 13:45:41

I often wonder at people who have stylists/ apparently limitless budgets and still look like a dog's brekkie! My excuse is limited funds (yeh right) but did anybody clock Cherie Blair at Wedgy Benn's funeral? Above the knee skirt with a fat hem, white tights and frankly fat legs terminating in kitten heel sling backs. I imagine her stylist resigned before she was shot. And as for Royal weddings ....shock

glammanana Sun 06-Apr-14 12:56:19

I do like some of the bright colours she wears and she can take the colurs well as she is so dark but maybe it is the TV effect that makes her look slightly bigger as it is suggested that you look 10lbs heavier when a programme goes out on screen, she could think of trying a dropped waist type of dress rather than a nipped in waist all her clothes do come across as very "mumsie" imo,but overall I like them really.

Charleygirl Sun 06-Apr-14 12:41:16

I agree with both of you and to me, Kirsty's dresses are a tad too short.

Anne58 Sun 06-Apr-14 12:12:03

I've always thought that she only wears one style of dress, which she has in a multitude of colours!

NanKate Sun 06-Apr-14 12:09:44

I love watching Location Location with Phil and Kirsty, but of late I have noticed that Kirsty is wearing very bright colours and dresses with flouncy skirts. I don't know if I am right but she has put on weight and the tightly pinched in waist just makes her look bigger.

I too battle with my weight so have every sympathy, but I wonder why she seems to be drawing attention to her increasing size.
