Preparation H

I`ve just finished reading an American thriller, set in 1997, and a police officer was wondering why a dead man had Preparation H in his glove compartment when the PM showed he didn`t have haemorrhoids(sp), but a female officer informed him that vain people used it to get rid of, or -prevent, bags under their eyes. As mine have developed into flippin` great suitcases, I`m wondering whether to give it a go! Anybody else heard about it?

He he. I have a friend who is an actor, (now retired) it seems that this product, which tightens the skin, is (or was) frequently used as a quick fix face lift.

I'm told that Garnier day cream is good for a sore bum!

ninathenana Sun 13-Jul-14 11:19:18

Yes it's quiet commonly recommend for wrinkles and bags. I've not tried it though.

HollyDaze Sun 13-Jul-14 11:28:16

I've heard that it has been used for, erm, alternative reasons but not sure how good it is. If you do give it a go numberplease, you'll have to let us know if it works!

I have tried it and it didn't make a scrap of difference, except to make the under eye area quite red !!

Well piles ointments are designed to shrink the offending blood vessels, so I assume they might shrink skin bags as well.
But skin tissue is probably less sensitive to the application of such products than the enlarged blood vessels. Probably best to keep it near your bum. You would not want to get it in your eyes,
It can't half sting on Piles!
Enjoy your lunch.

Why thank you, I will .

I tried it once, years ago (actually, I think I used Anusol) because I'd heard it shrank eye bags. It didn't but I stank of the stuff all day - couldn't get rid of it!

Tegan Sun 13-Jul-14 15:58:42

Doesn't smell as bad as Germoloids.....but then one wouldn't use Germoloids for eye bags..

Tegan Sun 13-Jul-14 15:59:17

....please don't ask me why I'm an expert on such matters....

Nelliemoser Sun 13-Jul-14 16:58:20

Tegangrin

Well, it was worth an ask! May give it a go, can`t be any worse than the bags!

Tegan Sun 13-Jul-14 19:12:23

number; if you do just put a bit on a small area to test it...the skin round the eye is very sensitive.....

Ana Sun 13-Jul-14 19:41:29

*number, do try Boots No.7 Lift & Luminate Eye Cream if the haemorrhoid stuff doesn't work!

As I posted on another thread about eye bags, I got a tube of this free with another purchase, and I'd certainly buy it again, it does make a difference.

rosesarered Sun 13-Jul-14 20:28:40

number please don't try this! shock

rosesarered Sun 13-Jul-14 20:29:39

Eyes are so sensitive and you look nice how you are. smile

rosequartz Sun 13-Jul-14 20:43:05

Nothing short of surgery could make mine look better sad

numberplease Sun 13-Jul-14 22:28:52

Rosesarered, you`re very kind, but you haven`t seen me in the flesh!

rosequartz Sun 13-Jul-14 22:35:06

numberplease, don't do it, you do look nice as you are! (just took a peek).

DGD2 age 2 was trying to give me an upper eye lift the other day, but I think she ended up stretching it even more.

I tried it years ago. No I'll effects but it didn't make any difference. I have been advised that cream is too heavy to put on the eye area and a gel is lighter. Some mornings if my eye look puffy or baggy I hold an ice cube against the baggy area. It works for me.

I had a peek at your photo too number. You are a lovely looking lady.

Thank you to all you lovely, short sighted people!
