Optifit Bras

Well, I bit the bullet and got the special measuring tape and ordered the bra. It arrived today. Not particularly attractive but thought we'd give it a go! It was difficult to get on - very tight although they do say that will get better. I followed the 12 step instructions to fit in it correctly - yes 12 - by which time I was struggling to breathe. �� Wondering why on earth I had spent £70 (almost) on this item of torture I have now been wearing it for the rest of today.��

I am amazed what a difference it has made to my shape and I do believe my permanently aching back is feeling a little better. It has also improved my posture and the spare tyre has deflated somewhat. Best thing was the OH commented that I was looking 'perky'. Cheeky chap! Slight overspill on the back fat but certainly a better outline than before. ��

They say to allow ten days for the bra to 'break in' so guess it will ease off a tad. It is also macine washable which Is a bonus. Further report after I have road tested it for a few days. ��☺️

I did see the magic wire bras on a website but I haven't heard anything about them good or bad. I shall investigate the Fantasies bra that cool gran mentioned. Trouble is we are all different shapes and sizes. Opti fit send you a special tape measure which you use to take various measurements which they then convert into the appropriate bra for your size and cup size. Certainly the newspaper articles were supportive (oh - bad choice of words) but can you believe what you read theses days.? I think I may just bite the bullet and give it a try. It may be the answer to a maiden's prayers!

I can't help with the Optifit, but otherwise I know just what you mean. Do you by any chance know anything about Triumph Magic Wire? I do find wires uncomfortable and these use integrated silicon support instead, but does it work? £36 is a lot to pay if it doesn't.

I haven't heard of Optifit bras - have they been personally recommended to you.
I am large in the frontal area, like a ship in full sail, so must have an underwire. Also have a problem with straps that fall off the shoulder.
Last week I decided to clear out all my M & S bras that only nearly fit and can be uncomfortable, and my Fantasie bras that are comfortable but are washed done. I'm 65 and want comfort and a decent shape. Pretty lingerie would be a bonus.

I went to the specialist bra fitting shop of the area, who provides all shapes and all sizes, to buy 3 bras, one black, one white and one nude. They pride themselves in their ability to provide a great service.

Generally it has been a 36G or GG, or a 38G. I'm relatively narrow in the back and need good fitting to prevent the booby weight from pulling the back of the bra upwards. To make sure that the wires at the sides aren't poking into my underarm, but also ensure that there is no -fat- overspill at the sides, ensuring that the wires fit into the chest bone and a full coverage cup with no extra booby at the front.

Ahhh.... we found one bra. It isn't particularly pretty but it is sooooo comfortable.
Fantasie Speciality Bra which was much cheaper than any of the others at only £23. Excellent fit and comfy.

I kept a couple of pretty bras but for general wear I could recommend the Fantasie Speciality as being worth a try on.
