New padded jacket - where to buy?

I've been reviewing my wardrobe for going on a river cruise in April and have decided I need a light padded ( not quilted) jacket but I can't find what I'm looking for! East usually have them but only have one this year and its quite short.

Anyone have any suggestions where to look? Thank you!

Sorry 'it's'!!

I'm a fan of Joules. A padded jacket is a very useful addition to a wardrobe for that in-between time of year.

I'd love to do a river cruise. Tell us about it when you return. I hope you have a 'good' one.

Try Seasalt, kitty quite a good website.

I love my Joules jacket. I popped into their shop in Market Harborough this week (not to far for you to make the trip perhaps)and they have a lot of new spring styles - how about a gilet for River Cruise?

I've just bought a really nice one in Sainsburys, lightweight and slightly fitted so I don't look like a balloon grin

I like the Joules gilet too , but have you looked at Boden ?
Or, failing that, how about my "go to" a nice cardi grin

Wow, lots of replies. Thank you!

I try to steer clear of cardis Soutra as I just look like a sack of potatoes in them. Plus, for warmth I'd need a big one and I can do with out being 'bigger' grin But if you can suggest where to look for one that doesn't add bulk and make me look like a granny, I'll take a look!

Off to look at Boden and Joules now. flowers

Rab also seem popular at the moment, but may be too much of an outdoors walking type of thing.

Sorry can't do link on phone. Check out the regatta website. Padded jacket in the sale £13 !!!!!

MiniMouse Fri 13-Mar-15 12:24:26

There's also a Regatta outlet website!

kittylester Fri 13-Mar-15 12:56:42

Thank you for your suggestions everyone.

I'm really looking for something that is not waterproof but to put on when it gets chilly so more like an East thingy or, following Soutra's idea, to wear instead of a big cardigan. i've got a couple of gilets! I realised that most of the coats I possess are either big wool coats or varieties of mac/rainproof - well we do live in the UK!

Katek Fri 13-Mar-15 15:04:08

What about a wool wrap? Very versatile and lots of lovely colours.

I was going to suggest Regatta, but have you tried Cotton Traders? They do some good jackets for the changing seasons.

Soutra Fri 13-Mar-15 15:54:39

Have you looked at Orvis for rather smart Berber fleece jackets which are emphatically not "fleeces"!

Wraps are great. I have two, a red one and a grey one. Go with any style of outfit. Mine are from TKMaxx.

Have a look at Uniqlo website, they have lots of very light down jackets you can roll up and put in a little bag, loads of styles and colours and incredibly light and warm. I always take one on holiday.
