aaahhh.... the buttons.
But one day, you just never know !!

The annoying thing is, Coolgran65 they are never in the colour you need!
Like all those buttons.

This afternoon I tidied my sewing box. In there is a plastic pouch with many little lengths of ribbon that may one day be useful to coordinate a lampshade or some other soft furnishing when redecorating. Or for dgd to play with.

I can see that from your name.

Chop them off and throw away!
They infuriate me!

Me too, chloe. I have a huge collection of them. I am waiting for ribbons to come back into fashion, then I will weave them in and out of a loosely-knitted scarf, I thought.

Any other suggestions? A friend of mine makes 'taggies' for babies using hers, and sells them at school fairs.

I cut mine off and then can't bring myself to throw them away as I think they may be useful......I have lots of too short for anything pieces of ribbon in lots of different colours all safely stored away blush

Mine get chopped off - they are just a nuisance.

The only time they can be helpful is if you have a jumper with a wide neck that will not sit on a hanger.

In the days when I made sleeveless dresses, I always sewed in a little strip of bias binding inside the shoulder, fastened with a popper, to control my bra straps.

I thought they did that to stop garments falling off the hangers in the shops.... I always cut mine off as soon as I get them home.

If your bra straps keep peeping into view at the side of the neck of a top, those ribbon loops can keep them under control. Yes, I know that no-one bothers to hide their underwear from sight these days, and sometimes you see more under than outer, but I am an oldfashioned soul.

Not relevant for a nightie, though.

The first job with those tops etc is to cut the loops off nina or I find they migrate onto my chest and I am forever pushing them back or trying to wind them round my Bra straps. When out this action gets some odd looks.

The ones attached to the shoulder area of garments to make them stay on the hanger.
I have just cut some long ones off of a T-shirt style nightie what's that all about ??
I'm not in the habit of hanging up my nighties grin they're either in the wash, folded on my pillow or in a draw.
Does anyone hang theirs ?
