I saw a blue and white striped t shirt dress in M&S per una yesterday. I'm not a great per una fan, usually find their clothes a bit too fussy and flowery but I liked this frock a lot. I can't remember the exact price, but it was in the £30 range - if it was sunny I just know I'd have bought it!

I bought as lovely one in New Look last week for £12.99. A flowered one, just above the knee, short sleeves. Ideal for holidays. I don't normally wear T shirt dresses as I have a bit of a tum but this one looks fine.

My DiL had that JL one on the other day. Looks great. I like my dresses a bit longer, mid-calf. Still haven't seen any in this style that are long enough.

Very nice.

I'd have a teeshirt dress myself if I didn't have a huge prominent varicose vein going over my right knee (recently developed).

Just to report back - I bought this one.

Lovely quality, am really pleased with it.

Sorry I can't do a link on my phone but Cotton Traders do one in various colours with spots or stripes for £28

Perhaps someone else can do link.

T shirt dresses are wonderful and there used to be so many about. I loved the Laura Ashley ones but LA has seriously gone off in recent years. Boden and Jules have a few though- Jules loves stripey things.

Going back to Fuengirola next January GK. Coming?
Thanks NanKate.
I can get to a Sainsbury's, but they are a bit short of the big supermarkets near where my DD lives. I am going as a foot passenger so won't have the car.

NanKate Wed 08-Apr-15 08:04:00

All of the big supermarkets sell clothes it might be worth having a look for reasonably priced clothes Mamie best of luck.

Adini do so melting like you describe. They're on line too. x

Yes thanks had crossed posts. What a glorious morning it is in the French countryside today!

Mamie Wed 08-Apr-15 07:59:11

Oo yes that is perfect. Bit more than I wanted to spend, but heigh-ho. Their size 12 fits me perfectly I know (why do sizes vary so much these days?).

ffinnochio Wed 08-Apr-15 07:49:36

Did you try my second link (the one that should work) Mamie ?

Mamie Wed 08-Apr-15 07:45:52

Can't get that link to work Ffin, but I do love White Stuff. I think the fabrics are brilliant. My DD buys me their clothes for presents and I have even picked up a few things in charity shops. There is one where they live, so I don't even need to go to Bluewater.

Mamie I know exactly what you mean and I have a favourite one that I bought a few years ago in Fuengirola wink smile. It's plain navy though with a loose rope belt.

I haven't seen any here. Uniqlo clothes are nice, I've some lovely linen mix tops from there this season.

Mamie Wed 08-Apr-15 07:26:07

Thanks all. Some of those are a bit out of my price range tbh (think £20-30). This is the Uniqlo dress I was looking at www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/136124 but I wanted shorter sleeves (though at that price I could probably just cut the sleeves off!).
I won't get up to London, but will probably go to Bluewater. I really just want something simple, casual and comfortable for everyday.

If you want to go shopping I suggest you go to John Lewis, or Peter Jones. They have lots of outlets such as Toast, Jigsaw, Hobbs etc and you can often find what you are looking for there. I bought a t shirt dress from Cath Kidston a couple of years ago and very comfortable it is. I am not sure if they still do them. Uniqlo are great and their flagship store is opposite John Lewis in Oxford Street. You could also try Cos on Regent Street, they have lots of simple styles in great colours, have a look at their website, but they always have new stuff in the shop that's not on it.

Try NAVABI online under brand CHALOU. a plain t shirt dress in navy, red or black. Also, WALL-LONDON have a selection of pima cotton dresses. TOAST ditto.

NanKate Wed 08-Apr-15 06:57:56

Mamie I have bought one or two reasonably priced dresses in comfy material from M and Co. However they don't appear to be plain or striped. I got a lovely one with butterflies on it. They do lots of sales. Have a look online and see if anything takes your eye.

Mamie Wed 08-Apr-15 06:44:11

I am popping over to the UK at the end of the month to see DD and family and do some shopping. On my list is a simple t-shirt dress, knee-length, plain or stripes, short sleeves, comfortable and not expensive. Can anyone suggest anywhere I might find one? I have looked at quite a lot of websites, but can't find much, except possibly Uniqlo.
Any ideas?
