In praise of the local college

They do this where my daughter teaches too. They also have a beauty salon. The one nearest to me - not near enough sadly - has a restaurant and I was once invited to be one of the dinners at the catering exams at my DDs college. The food and the service were excellent.

I am not sure how long all this will last with the big cuts coming to FE in September. sad

There is one near us that does this too. A friend goes there regularly to have her hair done and is always very pleased.

Yesterday I had a facial and pedicure at the small local college which runs beauty courses. The cost £12!! a salon cost locally would be more like £80. The students are all approaching their finals and are well supervised. The only inconvenience is that the salon is only open in term time on certain days but they are really desperate for customers. If there is one near you well worth giving it a try. I am hopefully anticipating the opening of their training restaurant.
