This question has just been put to the listeners on Woman's Hour.

I wondered what you were all wearing.

As we are shortly off to see the CG for 2 days then moving onto the New Forest for a week I am dressed in what I would describe as smart casual.

Nice grey/black/silver striped sweater with a slightly nautical feel.
Light grey woolly cotton jacket embellished with an Art Deco style brooch
Dark Grey comfy trousers from M & S - good for the journey.
Purple suede and leather flat shoes from Hotter, can't wear heels now.

Admittedly I am not a fashion icon because comfort is my aim.

Having spent a few hours with my two young boys I will be looking as if I have been dragged through a hedge backwards, as my mother used to say. grin

Off to help with our two GSs 2 and 4 so bomb/sick/mud proof clothes.

I arrive make up and hair done and leave 4 days later looking like a Bag Lady. smile

Navy shorts and a navy and white striped tee shirt and I'm trying to sneak in a few minutes with GN. grin
I shall soon have to go out again and will change shorts for navy cotton 3/4 length trousers and I'll put my bronze sandals on.

Rather snazzy mottled Country Casuals mac/jacket bought with a 70% discount smile plus dark green trousers.

Went on a day's outing with WI to Oxford, it rained all morning but I was very warm and dry in my new jacket.

Purple v-neck jumper, grey trousers, stripey socks and black trainers.

Marmight Mon 18-May-15 10:33:45

blue jeans, blue and pink checked shirt and baffies

hildajenniJ Mon 18-May-15 09:36:48

Black jeans, lilac/grey sweater, pink and grey socks and slippers at the moment. I am just doing housework and waiting for DH to come home, then we will take the wasing to the launderette.

It's a good job that I didn't put away all my leggings and big jumpers as I have to keep wearing them!

Today, I'll start with black leggings, grey white tunic top with a long sleeved black t-shirt under and purple slippers! Later, I'll swap the leggings for jeans, put on boots plus a big Mac and walk to the coffee shop at the other end of the village for a meeting! When I come home it could well be pjs and a dressing gown! grin

annodomini Sun 17-May-15 22:20:28

Black trousers, red fleece because it's quite cold.

I am wearing my basic Nana on duty outfit of jeggings and soft sweatshirt as DGS1 and DGS3 have been at ours for a lazy Sunday. DGS1 has been peacefully asleep on me for much of the afternoon - sheer bliss. smile

We had tuna sandwiches for tea and I have just picked what I thought was a fallen piece of tuna from said sweatshirt and popped it in my mouth. It was a bit of curdled milk spat up by DGS3. Cheers, Ted, it's a good job I adore you beyond sense and measure! grin

ninathenana Sun 17-May-15 09:59:09

Navy linen trousers, long line white T with little pink flowers. Cream cardi and black canvass shoes.
I have to pop into town to get some bits for DGS1 birthday tea.

hildajenniJ Sun 17-May-15 08:22:11

Currently I am wearing a pink nightie and red fluffy dressing gown. When I've showered I will be wearing my comfy grey cords and a lavender sweater. If I go to see Dad, I'll change into black trousers and my new pink floral blouse.

Coolgran65 Sun 17-May-15 07:50:46

Turquoise fluffy dressing gown and pink nightie and pink slippers.
Was woken by a nudge.... DH thinks I snore.
Will put on the washing machine and go back to bed with kindle....perhaps dose.
Later DS and family are taking us out to Sunday lunch. I'll wear black ankle grazers with a tiny cuff, black patent low block heel with ankle strap, black top and a tan and black tweedy mix Alex jacket that I got in the sales for £25.

Nfk, speak to their customer services dept, they are lovely and I think returns are free.

Last night we had supper at my brothers so I wore black jeans, my new Kettlewell top, a pink and purple necklace and pink shoes!

Today, we are going to DGD2's 4th birthday party, which is a barbecue party, so I'm wearing jeans and a pale pink, cotton jumper that I am prepared to sacrfice if it gets covered in something revolting! I will also be wearing pink and blue canvas shoes [from Moshulu)!!

NanKate Sat 16-May-15 21:19:40

Thanks Kitty will investigate Moshulu shoes.

NfkDumpling Sat 16-May-15 17:46:26

I liked the sound of Moshulu shoes Kitty so Googled to find the nearest store (don't want to do mail order - got bunyons and need arch support). 73 miles across the Fens! B****r!

kittylester Sat 16-May-15 17:29:24

Moshulu have fabulous coloured, but comfy, shoes. I have some lovely shocking pink suede ones too! I usually buy them in the sales.

I obviously threw away far too many tee shirts as I have had to garden in ones I usually wear! blush

NanKate Sat 16-May-15 17:23:53

Nina and Kitty I am a purple fanatic. hmm

Most of my clothes are lilac moving to mauve then to purple. I even have a nice grey/purple nail varnish on today and a bright pink camisole under my teeshirt.

I am envious of your purple suede shoes Kitty.

Don't start me on all the necklaces I have in every purple hue known to man or woman.

My 4 year old GS brought me back a card he had made for me at Pre School.
'I drew it in your favourite colour Nanny'. That's my boy !

loopylou Sat 16-May-15 17:22:02

I like the sound of witchy stripped socks !

I had a Newlyn smock years ago, sadly it eventually fell apart/disintegrated with age. It started of navy and ended up barely blue....still miss it.

Tee shirt, shorts and getting windburn, getting too hot gardening but chilly when I stop hmm so fleece going on and off like a Belisha beacon!

Brendawymms Sat 16-May-15 16:45:34

I also have navy trousers but they are linen ones. With that I have a navy tee shirt embroidered with Yellowstone and a big moose. I started out with. Pink Weird fish jacket but got too hot. I have witchy stripped socks on.

grannyactivist Sat 16-May-15 16:26:12

I am wearing navy chinos and a very old, but comfortable Newlyn smock, which is a favourite of mine - just right for doing gardening in. It's loose and has a round neck and handy pockets, the colour is a very faded maroon so that it looks sort of dark pink now.

rosequartz Sat 16-May-15 15:21:20

I keep really old clothes just in case I do any decorating then I can throw them away afterwards.
The trouble is we haven't done any decorating for ages.

kittylester Sat 16-May-15 12:25:25

I love pinks and purples nina, and I have to stop myself from overindulging. blush

I have just had a clear out and sent about 15 M&S t shirts to the charity shop. They were mostly black or white and I had saved those 'just in case' but then realised they were so blooming dreadful that, if 'just in case' happened, they were too embarrassing to wear anyway!
