The Style section of the Sunday Times today features what they have called a 'Pre-Fall Collection'. Is it me or is pre-fall ' the Summer? I don't understand the concept.

And why use the term Fall rather than Autumn. Another American term creeping in.

Laughable!

I am still wearing my post winter collection

I thought the same. Maybe a marketing ploy for stimulating interest in the Autumn ranges, which bring in more money.

As the print beneath the headline "Pre-fall" explained that all the clothes shown were available now, this would seem to be another inventive name for summer as we've always known it. The Style magazine is such a load of codswallop anyway, the prices out of this world and designs extreme - they had handbags "everyone can afford" at £200 this week!

Pre-Fall is this something to do with the Garden of Eden? Up here summer is only a couple of weeks anyway. I'd like to have more seasons- Spring, Post spring, Summer, Post summer, Pre Fall, Fall, Winter. Mind you it won't make any difference to how we dress. My friends and I will wrap up in layers and the local girls will trek around the town in skimpy dresses!

I'm still in my thermal vests. There were a couple of days some weeks ago when I didn't feel the need, but it didn't last!

Yes, at the first hint of sunshine the girls where I live go sleeveless but still wear their Uggs, and what's with the boys in woolly hats even in hot weather? confused
