Jeans that fit!

In a moment of unusual madness, I bought a pair of jeans in Asda (not a place I would normally shop for clothes) called "Wonder fit" that apparently stretch to fit all shapes. "alters size with you" it says on the label. Well, we've all heard that before! BUT THEY DO! I'm a size 20 and the 18-20 size not only fit, but look good. Result! I think they were either £10 or £12. Well happy here

I like Sainsbury's Tu jeans which are an ideal fit for me. I also found the Tesco F&F tube jeans fit. I go for the regular length at Sainsburys but need the short F&F so it is worth trying the different sizes on before buying. Both ranges are really good value for money.

I always buy Gloria Vanderbilt for myself at JCPenney.

You may think you look awful, but I bet you look great [sun]

I used to live in jeans but I just look awful in them now . I love the lose fit straight leg trousers that are everywhere (harem) they go with everything . Straight or tapered leg are so much more flattering for us small people .

We know GT !!!

Sorry if it offended anyone, it's a sort of family phrase, along with "in and out like a fiddlers elbow" !

GandTea Sun 12-Jun-16 18:49:22

grin Interesting turn of phrase there Pheonix (would it have seemed amusing, if I had used it ?)

At the moment my weight seems to be up and down like a whore's drawers, and below the waist, what will fit one day, doesn't the next!

I have dug out several pairs of jeans from the back of the wardrobe, sometimes one pair are fine, the next day I have to think again!

GandTea Sun 12-Jun-16 18:07:52

Go on try them, you may be surprised how good you look. I don't know anything about ladies jeans (or men's for that matter) but some do look far better than others, I think it is the cut of the jeans rather than the bum contained therein. So try a few different ones. I am available for unbiased opinion. grin

Deedaa Sun 12-Jun-16 17:58:17

I know I shouldn't try it, but some of my friends look really good in them confused

Actually I was watching some of the King's Troop getting ready yesterday and I thought their black breeches showed off their bums very nicely. The standard of snooker players' bums doesn't seem to be anything like as good as it was a few years ago - no reason to watch it at all.

BTW, for those few that don't know I am not a woman, so am well qualified to judge the sexiness of a ladies bum, having made a lifelong study.

GandTea Sat 11-Jun-16 21:41:50

Lucky you Deedaa, leggings are the work of the devil, IMO of course. I have been flogged for my opinions on leggings in the past, and probably will now. Go for a good fitting pair of jeans, a ladies bum looks very sexy in jeans, IMO, of course. Leggings are fine under a short skirt, but without can display features that are best left unseen.

OK, I shall now stand against the wall and wait for things to be thrown at me.

Against my better judgement I tried on a pair of jeggings in M&S today. Why can't their designers understand that someone with a size 16 waist is going to have size 16 legs? I could barely get the lower leg over my foot, never mind up my shin!

Nothing but NYDJ here. Expensive but fit well and keep their shape and they do last.smile

Jeans are my favorite outfit. Recently, I bought a pair of jeans in blue color from Forever21. I love my jeans.
Thanks!!

On the subject of jeans - I was out with three old school friends yesterday (all either 70 or about to be) and they were all wearing jeans. Can't imagine our mothers ever wearing them!

Neversaydie Sun 05-Jun-16 20:08:19

I love NYDJ and they wash really well Two pairs went from me to DD (i lost weight ,she gained)Then back to me. Yes you guessed... I reckon they did 6 years (and DD works in jeans,I live in them )
I don't have much trouble with fit but find most brands fade really quickly
Am wearing Sainsburys at the moment but have promised myself some NYD when I have lost that last 10lbs

I can never get jeans that fit without digging in but also stay up on my waist! If they are big enough not to really dig into my waist and give me a huge muffin top, then they just slide down my backside when I've taken a few steps. I hate wearing belts because if they're tight enough to keep the jeans up then they just contribute to the muffin top look sad . I'm 5'4" and also have rather big thigh and calf muscles due to lots of walking (but it does give you a nice tight bum lol) so often they are just too tight and / or long on the legs. I have tried every make, style and shape known to mankind, but nothing is right. Am I just too fussy? Am I destined to live the rest of my life in dresses and M&S stretchy wide leg trousers ? Help.....

I bought some holiday clothes yesterday in Matalan . I hate trying on clothes but I'm glad that I did ! One pair that I tried on in an 18 were too big in the waist and saggy in the bum but the same pair in a 16 wouldn't go over my knees ! The other 16's were great - really happy with all my purchases ! Nice tops in there , too !

I have just purchased a pair of black, straight leg, short length jeans from Bon Marche. They fit beautifully and only £18! Bargain I think. I cannot wear jeggings or skinny jeans, they wrinkle on my legs and baggy around the ankles, I am a size 12 in some shops and a size 14 in others. I tried various styles of petite size in Next and none of them fitted well at all. I have bought a pair of straight leg from Sainsbury's and they fit well, although I had to take them up a couple of inches. I am only 5ft 1in. I prefer flat or low heels now, so finding the right leg length can be difficult. I too like Asda jeans, just not always got the leg length I need.

Try Fifty Plus - on line - they have a good range - I have just bought their bootcuts - 5 different lengths - for £16 currently in their sale. They fit a treat.

David Emmanuel jeans from BonMarche. These I found were a good fit - the denim ones not the black ones (they came up a bit loose and I had to down a size) They sit on the waist and have stretch. I am happily sitting in a pair right now which I bought earlier in the year. Definitely need 31" leg tho - 29 comes up a bit short.
