I recently bought a backcombing brush, the makers called it a teasing brush, and I am really pleased with it. I only backcomb the flat bits of my hair after I have washed and styled it. I wish I had discovered this brush ages ago. I think it cost me £3.75 and it hasn't ruined my hair.
