I have used olive oil as a night time moisturiser for most of my life. I'm told I have good skin (though my mum did too so that could be genes). It doesn't make your skin as oily as you think it will. I tend to use it at night time and then a 'normal' moisturiser during the day. Only because I'm not convinced about how my make-up will stick to the olive oil.
I also use it as a body moisturiser. If I have time/inclination I mix it with some lavender oil so it smells nice.

I've been making my own shampoo for a few months now (very simple - bicarb + water for the shampoo and apple vinegar + water for the conditioner). Hair is exactly the same as it was before and I have less bottles cluttering up the bathroom.
So now I'm wondering what else I can get rid of and cut down on chemicals (and the marketing hoopla). Anybody have a good 'recipe' for face cleanser? I don't want to be mixing potions like an alchemist so something simple (and effective!)
