What perfume do you wear?

I usually wear Knowing by Estée Lauder which I love. I'd like to find another perfume, have been out today, but have come back empty handed as in the end they all smelt similar.
What is your favourite? I'm looking for something not sweet or flowery.

can anyone tell me which perfume is best for evenings and for days. I just spray lots on wherever im going but most of you know what time to wear it. Please tell me. Also can anyone remember (70s) Aqua manda, I loved the orange Christmassy spicy smell, one year I got 5 bottles. I would love some nowadays.

I remember Aqua Manda, in a brown bottle I think. Also Meadowsweet, possibly by Avon.

I don't often wear perfume but when I do - it's Chanel No.5 ?

Coolgran65 Sat 06-Feb-16 22:55:05

I'm wearing Angel at present, it was a gift. Real favourite is No. 5.

At one time I was always getting compliments on my perfume......it was Rare Gold by Avon at about £6 when on offer. I loved it and might just go order some on line.

Does anyone remember "Occur" perfume by Avon in a little pot?

I love Euphoria - it does something magical to me - I always have a good time when I wear it !! Seems to make me feel special, confident and happy . My wee grandson apparently ran around Aldi's shouting ' I can smell Gwanny, I can smell Gwanny ' , he had to be caught . Later he explained to me , sniffing my wrists that's the smell he was chasing - he must like Euphoria too !

I still like YSL Opium - And they do a light summer version, Issey Miyake, Coco are also on my shelf. When I go to airports I sometimes buy those little sample boxes with about 5 different ones in - good to for travelling and trying out different fragrances. . Has anyone tried the Lidl perfume that is supposed to smell like Chanel? It's actually ok for everyday but doesn't last.

We had a thread about this at least once before. I don't know if anyone else has changed in the meantime, but Chanel No 5 remains my all-time favourite.

I cannot use certain scents – Nina Ricci, for example – as something about my skin/body makes them smell like over-boiled Brussels sprouts!

DH bought me some Clinique Black Aromatics for Xmas which is lovely and lighter than the original. I bought DD2 Clinique White Aromatics which is fresher and she loves it.

Oh yes, Fidji! Love that one. I first had that back on the '80s when a French exchange student bought me some as a thank you for putting her up.

LullyDully - I'm allergic to perfume now as well. sad

When I was in my teens and twenties I wore Hartnell's In Love because I was. smile

In my thirties and forties I wore Body Shop's White Musk which was lovely.

I wear Clinique Aromatics Elixir and quite often strangers tell me I smelliest. Then I worry that I have over indulged!

I remember Avon Occur, cream in a pot - I think it was quite a heavy perfume?

I hardly ever wear perfume, people never seem to notice it on me, and I can't smell it myself after first putting it on, and heavier perfumes really make my head ache.

I really like soft fresh smells like lemon, may try that Yves Rocher 'Verbena' or possibly the Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue.

I wear Oscar, by Oscar de la Renta. I have loved it ever since it was first bought for me by my DH the Christmas after we were married. I also used to like Cacharel Anais Anais, but sadly don't have either at the moment.

Paloma Picasso. No one else wears it so it is distinctive and my signature. It has a lovely smell and is the only perfume that stays on me.

I dislike all Avon perfume. They are so samey and sweet.

Poeme by Lancôme. Fabulous perfume. have actually been stopped in a department store and asked what the scent was. It's gorgeous. Also love Madame Rochas...not sure of the spelling as haven't had it for quite a while but it is beautiful.

janepearce6 Sun 07-Feb-16 09:54:39

I use 'First' by Van Clef & Arpels - it is wonderful when I can afford it or Chanel No5 if I can't. I'd love to have a third? Can anyone recommend please.

Gucci Premiere or Lancome Elle

Bluesmum Sun 07-Feb-16 10:00:21

Most perfumes smell like Dolly Mixtures on me after a while, except for Estée Lauder "Estée"' for daytimes, every day for the past 30+ years, and "mystere" by Madame Rochas for special occasions but I think this has disappeared from the shops now. When I was a teenager, Elizabeth Ardens "Blue Grass" was my very, very favourite then it seemed to disappear. I was overjoyed last year to find some in TKMax, bought a bottle, tried it and it is foul, nothing like it is in my memory!

Theoddbird Sun 07-Feb-16 10:01:33

Chanel No 5 It is my luxury item. I even spray a little on when going shopping smile

Daddima Sun 07-Feb-16 10:07:40

First by Van Cleef and Arpels, Channel No 5 ( I tried the Lidl smell alike, Suddenly Woman 1, and it wasnt bad), and Agent Provocateur, with AP being my favourite.

I used to wear Oscar de la Renta, and once the Old Man asked for a bottle of Lloret de Mar.

Ooh I remember Aqua Manda, I used to love that so warm and spicey!
I'm a bit of a perfumeaholic nowadays, my favourites are....

Bulgari pretty much all of the Omnia range
Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom
Philosophy Pure Grace
Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily

Does anyone remember Avon pretty peach or Goya black rose, I used to love those as well?
