I usually wear Knowing by Estée Lauder which I love. I'd like to find another perfume, have been out today, but have come back empty handed as in the end they all smelt similar.
What is your favourite? I'm looking for something not sweet or flowery.

Euphoria by Calvin Klein. When I wear it I am often asked what perfume I am using. Chanel no.5 for special times.

I've been using 'Suddenly' from Lidl for a while now and it's definitely a copy of Coco Mademoiselle. This was reinforced when I went for a spa treatment and the very posh girl doing my massage said ' Ohhhh you're wearing Mademoiselle' Me ...stupidly, 'Ummm no.. Lidl's own' In the local Lidl's store the other day I noticed that there are now some new fragrances available. Has anyone any ideas of what perfumes the new ones are similar to?

Moon wind - didn't have me glasses on!

Does anyone remember 'Mooneind' by Avon? It was nice, but we all used to call it 'Lunar Fart'! smile

I have recently returned to wearing Rive Gauche by Yves St Lauren which I first wore in the 70's and grandson says I always smell "nice". Don't get many compliments these days so think I will stick with it but this has been a great post and have enjoyed the recommendations.

Hello everyone. Love the posts. Grumpa, your's did make me smile.? Madforboys, I'm with you. I love Anais Anais. My DH used to buy it for me. He passed away just over a year ago and wearing it does make me feel close to him. I know it will feel strange buying it myself but it does bring back good memories!!☺️

I used to wear Le Jardin or Cool Water. Then I settled on Anais Anais which I've worn for about 30 years now.

I won't pay a lot for perfume as I have very little sense of smell anyway.

However, I do like LouLou and can only pray it smells as nice as I hope it does. I have been complemented on it once or twice so...

Could anyone on here tell me what they think of it please? I would appreciate comments, complimentary or otherwise.

I was dancing with a young man at the local Mecca. He leaned in towards me, fearing he was going to kiss me I asked "Can you smell my Charlie?" Exit young man stage left confused

Ruthiek, I've just Googled perfumes from the 1960's and got quite a lot of pictures, couldn't really see what you described, might be worth a look though. Trying to remember something is what keeps me from getting to sleep at night sometimes, haha.

I used to use Je Reviens and thought it was me when I tried it the last time. How can they change the formula of a perfume and still give it the same name, sounds daft to me. Most perfumes change on me and usually smell awful but I've found one, Noa by Cacherel, the original one, I've even had people compliment me. Not expensive either. Does anyone else have this problem of perfumes changing, for the worse, when you wear them, perhaps I'm in the minority!

My favourite is J[adore by Dior. I wore it when I went to visit my newly born GS in hospital. As he was a bit fretty I transferred him from arm rest to shoulder cuddle and he just snuggled in. Imagine my horror when I went to lay him down and we could see his eyes had puffed up - definitely an allergic reaction. Nurse had to swab his eyes and call the paediatrician!!!!!!

He was FINE - not distressed and mum and dad were actually very relaxed about it (phew!!!) - both have sensitive skin.

But I am now a soap and water granny on my visiting days. My daughter says he is always so good for me - I do seem able to get him off to sleep no problem, but I say he is just 'keeping his head down' in case 'granny blinder' strikes again!!

Oh dear I have to admit to One Direction Our Moment for every day. I'm hooked. Going out its Dior Dolce Vita (not sure if correct spelling).

I think there was a post on the Martin Lewis money saving web site that you can buy perfume that is unpackaged (no box) at a cheaper price
I have not tried the site as my perfume comes via birthday and christmas times and occasionally duty free.
Also think that the big perfume houses would not allow their perfume to be sold this way.
Just as an aside did anybody see a programme around xmas time that said that most perfume was owned by the big 5 (I think ) perfume houses and that they also own the fabric softner scent.

MontanaGal Sun 07-Feb-16 19:19:08

My favorite is Kenzo "Amour".

Tresor not Trevor!!!!! Sigh.....

L'ancome Tresor
I was reading a magazine in the hairdressers, many years ago, and they'd asked men what they thought of various perfumes. Trevor was the one that made many of the men want to hug the person wearing it! Nuff said!!!!! smile
