I usually wear Knowing by Estée Lauder which I love. I'd like to find another perfume, have been out today, but have come back empty handed as in the end they all smelt similar.
What is your favourite? I'm looking for something not sweet or flowery.

I'm wearing Angel at present, it was a gift. Real favourite is No. 5.

At one time I was always getting compliments on my perfume......it was Rare Gold by Avon at about £6 when on offer. I loved it and might just go order some on line.

I don't often wear perfume but when I do - it's Chanel No.5 ?

I remember Aqua Manda, in a brown bottle I think. Also Meadowsweet, possibly by Avon.

can anyone tell me which perfume is best for evenings and for days. I just spray lots on wherever im going but most of you know what time to wear it. Please tell me. Also can anyone remember (70s) Aqua manda, I loved the orange Christmassy spicy smell, one year I got 5 bottles. I would love some nowadays.

Ticktac, I too love Knowing by Estée Lauder It's quite a strong fragrance and only wear it for evening outings.
For day I wear Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana, it's lighter.

I love chanel no 5, I l know its expensive for little old hard up me but DD buys it for birthdays and xmas, I also love Davidoff cool water and my mother buys that. These are my one luxury. I may go out in a charity shop coat, much washed jumper and at least I will smell nice.

I either wear Fragonard by Fragonard, which I can now buy in M&S !!! or Mandarina Duck which seems to only be sold in Italy.

Cherrytree59 Sat 06-Feb-16 21:39:24

No 5 for special occasions
Aromatic elixir by clinque
Just on daily basis Pink from next
When I was a teenager in the 70s I used to buy Tramp does anybody remember it ?

NannyMags Sat 06-Feb-16 20:09:05

Estée Lauder, Intuition is lovely I also love Knowing but I find that is more for evenings. Jimmy Choo (the original one ) I wear a lot but wasn't keen on any of the others until Blossom- flowery and sweet nice for summer.

Indinana Sat 06-Feb-16 19:45:38

Van Cleef and Arpels. I first bought it in France about 15 years ago. I've never seen it in the UK (at least not in my neck of the woods) and now the one I loved seems to be no longer available sad. However, Rêve and First are both among my favourites these days.
Another old one I used to love was Infini by Caron. I wore this at my wedding in 1971.
Everyday perfumes for me are usually from Next - Cashmere being one of my favourites.

Gagagran Sat 06-Feb-16 19:43:11

My daytime one is Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin and my evening one is Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. I usually get nice comments and queries about what my perfume is with both.

Hermès Calèche. Love it and it brings so many happy memories from the last 40+ years.

My mum used to have some by Roger and Gallet but I don't know name of it. It was her Je Reviens I used to pinch. 5then my ex of 40 years ago sent me a large bottle of it and it had changed.

janeainsworth Sat 06-Feb-16 19:00:35

grin Oops!! I thought you meant we were giving you a headache jingl blush
clara what a fabulous jobenvy
Agree with you about Poison -aptly named IMHO.

ClaraB Sat 06-Feb-16 18:55:28

I used to be a Fragrance Evaluator up until a few years ago and knew most of the perfumes on the market, some of the worst smells being Poison and Angel in my opinion. I used to buy Miss Dior but now prefer softer fragrances and recently have been wearing Chloe. I've just bought Liz Earle's 100 which I find to be a nice easy to wear floral fragrance.
