Delusions?

My guilty secret is that I watch Come Dine with Me on Saturday and Sunday afternoon while H watches sport. This afternoon one of the women stated that most people think she is beautiful but she wants them to realise she is brainy as well.
Now she is well groomed and attractive but beautiful, well?
Do you agree with me that people delude themselves or am I just catty?. You are allowed to say yes.

Think of all those programmes like X Factor and The Voice. Delusional? I think so. Same with all these women with, tattooed, or stencilled eyebrows, over whitened teeth and body tattoos . Gross

I think she must be very vain to say that, especially on a tv programme! 'Attractive' would be a more modest (and realistic) word, if she had to say anything at all.

About 20 years ago I was involved with an amateur production which had a local teenager in one of the main parts. She was a total nightmare - always late with no consideration for anyone else. She was quite attractive, but nothing special. She told us one day that she didn't have to bother about working hard at anything because her face was going to be her fortune!!! Needless to say I have never heard of her since.

Naturally my opinion of my own devastating beauty isn't at all delusional (No comments thankyou Greenfinch) grin
