My hairdresser is very scary

She's point blank refused to give me a fringe for the past 7 years and told me off for even suggesting it! I've always meekly given in but yesterday she was off sick and my hair was in desperate need of a trim. So i saw someone else who was unaware of my 'no fringe' ban and TA-DAH! I am now sporting a very lovely (I think so anyway) flippy fringe which I think takes years off. Otherwise I have been VERY happy with my hairdresser. She is very fierce but doesn't do chitchat - I hate chitchat at the hairdressers - and does a great job. But I do feel I'm going to get a real telling off when she sees me next... I actually feel a bit like a naughty child! Does anyone else have this with hairdressers?

Oh yes. He chats but my hair is not my own.

No, my hairdresser is great and does what I want. I've had a fringe for most of my life but funnily enough I blow dried it back today and it's now flopped into a cowlick! Looks awful but I can bring back my fringe, feels more comfortable like this though.

It's your hair, not your hairdresser's, maybe when she's back she'll agree that you look better. Stick to your guns!

No she's not scary, I've been with her for about 15 yrs. but shd does like to chat smile
I had my haircut yesterday and asked her how her last skiing trip went. For the next half an hour she told me all about the saga they had at the airport, I couldn't get a word in edge wayshmm

I like it when hairdressers chat. Not the "scripted" "are you going anywhere nice tonight" or "where are you going for your holiday" but just genuine to and fro conversation.

Yes I do as well, I've known my hairdresser for years and we catch up on family, what's been happening as well as holidays of course.

Maybe your usual hairdresser just isn't any good at cutting fringes? grin

If a hairdresser refused to do my hair the way I wanted it, I wouldn't hang around for 7 years.
The chat/no chat part only lasts a short while, but you have the hairstyle stuck on your head all the time.

I would see somebody else in future, a hairdresser may advise, but that's all, it's your hair, and you are the one paying money.
