How often have you changed your hairstyle?

Just changed mine this week. Slightly shorter than usual and...totally blond. I have to admit I am not sure about the colour so I am going to have it toned down a wee bit next week. I love to have my hair different colours almost every time it needs recolouring.
I no longer wear eyeshadow and I think it helps lift my face.
Luckily I have a great hairdresser to guide me and if I don't like it he just redoes it for me for free the next week.

Lots of changes shoulder length to short, perms, Cila Black style as a nurse, it kept my hair off my collar, now I have a medium short and a hairdresser who cuts very well so I only have to wash and quickly dry whilst rubbing it. She colours it now a light brown. Tried natural with grey after chemo (bald was a style I hope not to repeat) not very inspiring so eventually had it coloured again.

Whenever I try a new style, my hair decides to revert to its natural pattern. I never have been able to grow it to a manageable length because it's very fine and now a bit more sparse than it once was. It looks great when I leave the hairdressers, but soon rearranges itself.

My hair was very curly, so was fashionable for about 6 months in the 80's. Less curly now but the hair still calls the shots, I have little influence.

Mine is pretty self-defining, like annodomini's. I had long hair in the sixth form because it was the thing to do at that age, but I always put it up because I didn't really like it round my neck. My mother hated the long hair. I had it cut shorter until, just after I got married, I had a short designer cut, which my hairdresser called "coupe sauvage". Since then I've hardly changed anything.

Absolutely not. Many women change hairstyle often, though there is no absolute need to :- it is a choice or option. Sometime a change of hairstyle is more comfortable and / or practical with change of season ( weather). Some women change hairstyle with a change in lifestyle etc. Fashion can be another reason. I have changed hairstyle at times, though would say not frequently. I tended to change hairstyle for practical reasons :- going on holiday and wanting a style which was easy to manage, as I was going abroad and wanted to make most of the available time to explore, get outdoors etc. I have also changed style for practicality in relation to career choice / employment.

I would suggest that you browse a hairstyles magazine, take into account what you expect from your hairstyle, discuss with a hairdresser that you trust.

Except for having my hair cut short in my teens, I do not think I have ever gone on for a dramatic change of hairstyle. It is more having styles that evolve, longer, shorter, straight across fringe, face framing fringe, moving towards a style, if it works sticking to it for, may be years, if it doesn't growing it into another shape.

My chum used to call me 'boysie' , I had cropped hair and no chest . Things have changed ! Long shaggy hair and control bra now . I saw a lady with a beautiful '70's feather cut ' two Saturdays ago , while I was shopping and wanted to ask her who had done it for her . I want that cut - I'll ask her tomorrow if I see her .

Not much. It has some natural curls in it. If it is made straight,it just doesnt really suit.
So I just have it longer or shorter depending on how I am feeling.

Ive had just about every hairstyle over the years and none of them suited me my hair is thick and course so at the moment ive gone short with blonde highlights still looks bloody awful

I change mine all the time, my hairdresser was not changing it enough so I changed him too.

Changed again today! Both cut AND colour!

Had lots of different styles over the years, including long and very short.For the last 15 years have kept it in an easy to do style,a layered bob, which is sometimes longer and sometimes shorter depending on how I feel.

It was fun until I got the dreaded "roots"

Soooo, as I was due a cut, I thought I would go for a complete colour change at the same time!

threesugars IMHO it's never too late to try something new. I recently plucked up courage and grew my layered hairstyle out. Now I have a chin length bob and for the first time in years I've had compliments about my hairstyle. It is certainly easier to maintain as I have very fine hair.

My natural colour is very dark brown and its dead strait. I tried reddish highlights/tinting but it looked boring so about 12 years ago I went to a different hairdresser and said I wanted to go lighter with highlights.
She did it full blown blonde...
which I loved !! I then had 3 different shades of blond to light brown put in and it looks more natural and more alive especially when the sun catches it. I keep it quite short with some layering at the back to try to give it a bit of body. But I really love my light hair look and think its softer for my face. I wont ever revert back to my natural colour. And its true...blondes do get more attention I noticed !!

I constantly change my hair style and in the past had different colours and dyes put on. I would not want to have the same hairstyle for longer than a year, keep coming back to longer hair though. My friend had her hair done every week in the same style she had it 40 years ago, it always looks nice, but I just couldn't do it.

I have always had long hair and at the minute it is waist length,I did have it trimmed quite a bit last year when I broke my shoulder and couldn't manage to clip it up but it has grown back again,everyday I style it differently either plated or up in a big bun or high pony tail the only problem I have is the colouring which takes two boxes and drying takes about 45 mins.

I have thick, curly hair that does its own thing. I would love a sleek, straight bob and am seriously thinking of getting a wig but not sure where I could buy a decent quality one.

I have always changed my hairstyle over the years.
1950's tinted auburn plenty of back combing and lacquer.
1960's ". ". ". softer styling cut shorter
1970's. dyed black up-do complete with false hairpiece with then fashionable curls.
1980's. cut again and blonde with some perm to give up to date style.
1990's. Cut very short pixie style more blond this times
2000-2016 more or less the same but with the additional use of two great wigs by
Racquel Welch one shades of copper, the other shades of blonde.

I wish I had purchased them earlier as they are brilliant for giving a completely new look when my own hair is looking a little less than its best!

Mrsjones, have you tried straightening tongs?
I have thick curly hair too and at the moment I'm going for a curly bob as I changed my hairdresser and she recommended it.

I feel quite nervous when i change my hair style. Don't know how people do.
