The Scarlet hair was fun, but.....

After 4 hours in the hairdresser's I'm now sort of ash/champagne blonde!

My hairdresser deserves a medal, my scalp (after 3 applications of "stuff") is just about ok, Mr P has got used to it, it looks fine with my skin tone, it will be much cheaper to maintain, and (bless her) she only charged me "mates rates" ! grin

I really think I've made the right decision, should save a lot of money, time and bother, with the change over to grey.

Although, when funds allow, I may treat myself to some sort of stuff to put temporary streaks in, pink, blue, purple? I gather you can get sort of crayons or chalk?

stay ash-champagne, it sounds lovely [forget the crayons!] smile

Blimely, I can only ever imagine you with darkish hair phoenix - perhaps one of your photos I've seen at one point? Glad you like it now though, after all, Blondes have more fun! (or so they say...)

rosesarered Sat 02-Jul-16 18:35:45

I certainly do!

roses I imagined you a short-haired brunette!

Ana before the "incident" I had a profile picture of me on the day I got married (to Mr P) with my usual red hair, have never had dark hair!

Ana Sat 02-Jul-16 20:14:49

Was it not a B&W photo, phoenix? A pixie cut? Yes, it was certainly your wedding day, and lovely you looked, too (and your son). Sorry I never realised it was red!

Anyway, have fun! smile

I now love my grey and wouldn't go back. I did go ash blonde, baby blonde and whatever came next for the transition but we have to accept the inevitable. Live with the age you are ,it is liberating to not to be "keeping up".

I have always wished for red hair but have never ever been brave enough to get the dye out and do it.

They say blondes have more fun Phoenix so you'll have to let us know! I'm ash blonde and I can't tell you the fun I have! Bouncy castles! Spinning bow ties! Dive bombing at the local pool! Although not sure that's quite what they mean!!! Enjoy your new look smile

Teetime Sun 03-Jul-16 09:59:33

Sounds nice phoenix I recently had some blondish highlights put in my (now dyed but was natural) dark brunette hair. I am due for a refresher this week and was contemplating a few more as I transition to all grey. Why cant we just wake up all grey/white one morning - as you say would save a lot of money.

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 11:09:47

You sound like a fun gal breeze !
teetime I had blonde highlights for the first time last week. When I got home my ever-observant DH, as I waved my hair in his face, said "oh it's a bit shorter this time"?
Waddever!

breeze Sun 03-Jul-16 11:25:48

Tongue in cheek Bella! If I jumped on the bouncy castle it would burst and there would be sobbing children everywhere! Aren't men the limit. Fancy not noticing your highlights. Bet he'd notice if you had and extra couple of chips on your plate tho! My OH just said is there any chance of a conversation with me today or does he has to post a new thread on GN to get to speak to me, so I had better go! Have a lovely sunday everyone!

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 14:58:35

Oh breeze I really did believe you! Bit on the gullible side sometimes! Well I did get on the trampoline ar DD2s recently but soon got off again, fortunately voluntarily! It was horrible. My DD was egging me on and it looked easier than it turned out to be.
Oh, DH notices nothing. I've got used to it.
Happy Sunday and enjoy your conversations with your husband.!

rosesarered Sun 03-Jul-16 20:00:43

Bellanona.... DH's never notice anything.grin I have blonde hair in a medium bob with layers in it, never been dark and short style, but know what you mean about imagining people on here, sometimes we get a pic in our heads.

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 20:17:22

Oh no, now I can't imagine you at all!

Jalima Sun 03-Jul-16 20:52:52

I imagined you with dark naturally curly hair rosesarered grin

Will have to start thinking again now

Am wondering whether to get some 'lowlights' to brighten up my hair.

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 20:57:22

What's stopping you Jalima? Just go for it !

Jalima Sun 03-Jul-16 21:00:01

I know, nothing really, but I haven't had my hair coloured for about 30 years!
They used to put a swimming cap on your head with holes in it then pull hair through with a very sharp crochet hook - it was purgatory!
I think things have improved since then.

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 21:04:08

They wrap strands of your hair in foil. Simples. And painless. It was a new experience for me.

Jalima Sun 03-Jul-16 21:11:55

hmm perhaps it's time to take the plunge

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 21:17:27

Well, that was I thought too.

Bellanonna Sun 03-Jul-16 21:18:06

..what I thought...
