Not with coloured hair, my hair is white and also not long term, but I recently didn't wash my hair at all for 16 days and it was absolutely fine. I was told it would "self cleanse" and it did. It was not greasy and didn't smell. When I did wash it very gently with a minimum amount of shampoo, it looked great and very shiny.i do not intend ever to go back to every few days.
