Me too hildajenniJ, have problems trying to put anything near my eyes so just moisturiser for me.

Eyeliner

Nivea Soft - this lovely cream is for all over the body, and I slap it on arms and legs, face, neck and hands after showering, and on my feet before I put socks on. It is lightly scented, fresh smelling, and a little more economical (!) than Creme de la Mer at £6 a tub.

Well oddly enough, Vaseline ! Ages ago I saw a skin specialist being interviewed on TV, and the presenter asked him what his wife used on her skin... he said, she uses the very best... and that's Vaseline.

I use it for everything.. at night on my very dry skin.... on my Hobbit like feet... on my cuticles... eyelashes. You name it.

1. Pixi Glowtonic - makes a huge difference!
2. Benefit mascara (They're Real tinted primer is totally brilliant for making lashes visible without a heavy mascara look)
3. Sheumura eyelash curlers - the best!
4. Lippy - Bobbi Brown soft and lasts / ByTerri fantastic / as is Sisley and worth the money. Also doubles as blusher.

Steamcream. It is a moisturiser that can be used on hands, face and body that is made from essential oils. I find it really brightens my skin - and the little tins it is sold in are great for storing things afterwards.

My husband spends more on beauty products than I do!
I use moisturiser daily and a bit of lippy occasionally.

I only wear moisturiser now. Could never get on with foundation or lipstick. I stopped making up my eyes when I developed "dry eyes" and need to apply drops when they are troublesome.

Photography Fluid by niod. You whack it on under your foundation and it does something clever with the light so you look blooming marvellous in photos. When I saw some photos of myself at a recent wedding I was really quite taken aback at how much brighter my skin looked (even if I do say so myself!! grin )

My allergen-free moisturiser. Then eyebrow pencil and blusher, but first and foremost my moisturiser. I have very dry skin, cannot use soap on it because it goes red and tight and cracks and cannot use mainstream 'allergen-free' moisturisers, because they all seem to contain something I am allergic to.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish gets all make up off and leaves your face clean but soft and hydrated. Not too expensive either.

Good eyebrow pencils/powder as a neat eyebrow is an essential and makes a difference.

Yes, mascara for me too! I've tried dying them, but it's never as effective.

hildajenniJ Wed 28-Sept-16 12:42:49

Oh, woe is me. I'm allergic to most make up products. The one essential that I couldn't do without is good moisturiser.

ninathenana Wed 28-Sept-16 12:11:35

Mascara !
I don't wear it every day but I won't even pop to the shop without applying mascara

Since reading the thread on decluttering I've been inspired and am clearing out all the little trial beauty products and other gunk I have accumulated over the years (probably a lot of it out of date!). Got me thinking about what I actually use and which products I wouldn't be without. What's the one thing you swear by? Mine is my lipstick (although tbh it probably counts as two because I mix two colours). If I'm feeling drab it's the one thing that perks me up and makes me feel 'done' and ready to face the day.
