Atqui What a fabulous idea. Now I could buy all those dresses and tops I never bought because of my bare arms.

If people don't like the look of my arms they can look the other way!

Go for it, everyone there will have something they are not happy with, fat, thin, double chins, wrinkles and the list goes on, we all have something we want to hide. I have thin arms that have wrinkles but I wear mostly clothes without sleeves especially when I am away. You then get to the point where you dont even think about it. Enjoy your evening and wear your dress with pride.

I would wear it and show my arms everyone gets old it is nothing to be ashamed of. Go enjoy your dance people will be busy enjoying themselves to notice

Just wear your dress Carol.
The lighting will be subdued and people will be too busy enjoying themselves to notice your arms, or anyone else's.

Wear it and enjoy it! We are all hung up about ourselves so on the whole everyone is worrying about themselves and wishing they looked as good as someone else....who will probably be you!

One can buy a short camisole with lace sleeves to wear under a sleeveless dress if it's not already lacy

Buy and enjoy... I used to be hung up on my arms, too, as I have long ones and stick thin wrists (wish I could move the bingo wings to the wrists). I got tired of passing up lovely tops and dresses for the same reason and now wear them.

We go to hotels most years for residential NY weekends ourselves, and the point is to have fun. Remember, you will be with others likely in the same age range.

I am what I am!! wine

Buy a shrug; Pure do cashmere ones in several colours, although I found the sleeves too tight. Don't buy the dress until you know you can get a shrug in the right colour though; a mistake I made when I bought a grey dress for a wedding and couldn't match it.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and would appreciate your opinion. We are going to a black tie party in a hotel to celebrate New Year. I have found a lovely dress that is a perfect fit but is sleeveless. At 65 am I too old to put my arms on display? I've already got a pashmina to cover my shoulders but won't be able to wear it whilst ballroom/Latin dancing. My arms are fairly slim but I've got the usual batwings and dimpled skin. So the question is to buy or not to buy?
