No. It can't be hygienic, surely?

My dad (with some didicoy blood) wouldn't let me have my ears pierced when I was young. I finally had them done aged 34, when I said I'd go with a work colleague who was getting it done as a 21st birthday present. She said "You go first" so I did, and then she chickened out! We met up recently - this happened about 38 years ago - and she still hasn't had them done. I'm glad I did it though, as I love wearing pretty earrings.

I hate to see children with pierced ears, and the thought of piercings elsewhere makes me go very peculiar!

Agree with most here. Have one hole in each ear (done in my 30s I think) which allows me to wear pretty earrings without pinching the lobe with clip ons. All other piecings dont appeal.
My motger wpuls never wear earrngs as she said it made her look like a gypsy!
I heard the term diddycoy (Sp?) in a childrens tv series about a gypsy girl many years ago!

My mother always wanted me to have my ears pierced and I always refused because it seemed really primitive. Then, when I was in my thirties I suddenly decided to have it done. DD had hers done when she was about 10 I think.

Didicoy is the term gypsies use for those of mixed or non Romani blood.

A friends ex husband had his penis pierced.
??
I have one piercing in each ear. I paid for it to be done at a jewelers with my first paypacket. I allowed D to have the same at 13.
I used to work in a chemists that did piercing the staff all refused to pierce babies ears which was requested quiet often. I think the youngest I did was a five year old boy He made no fuss at all.

NanaandGrampy grin I need to google 'Diddycoys' see what it actually means .

NanaandGrampy Thu 12-Jan-17 13:06:31

I heard the word 'Diddycoys' recently in deepest darkest Norfolk *Tanith, so it's alive and well.

I was a coward and didn't get my ears pierced till my 21st birthday . One hole in each ear. That was sufficient.

In terms of genital piercing I always wondered what type of person goes into a tattooist , cocks their leg up on the chair and and says 'pierce this mate' smile

I don't have any, my old Dad always used to tell me only Gypsys have Diddycoys (is that even a word?) have pierced ears and banned any of his 4 daughters from having it done. None of us ever did, I've never liked them anyway and as for intimate piercings, I knew someone who had a few and she said it boosted her sex life no end wink. Both my daughters and 2 granddaughters however all have the ears done I've never asked them if they have any others grin

I had my ears pierced in the 30s by someone I knew to be extremely hygienic and practised in carrying out the procedure. I wouldn't have had it done otherwise. I've never regretted it. It makes me cringe to see - and hear about - other body piercings including those huge round discs some people wear in their earlobes.

Sounds horribly painful to me. Piecing gentialia used to be popular a few years ago I worked with a care assistant who had had her labia pierced- cant think why.

I have one piecing in each ear lobe which my mother had done when I was 6 - don't know why. I quite enjoy wearing earings but don't think I would have bothered to have had it done myself as an adult I cant see a reason to inflict pin on my body.

In my paper today, I saw a picture of a young woman, aged 22, proudly going bra less to show her nipple piercings on her drooping breasts. How can this be classed as attractive, I dislike piercing and tattooes anyway, they turn my stomach, but surely this can't be safe.
