A field of Cauliflower heads

I remember going to see Gone With The Wind film one afternoon with my Mother when I was 16 and seeing ( we were sat near the back) a sea of cauliflower heads in front of us, even my Mother laughed, not many shampoo and sets now are there( or are there?)

Mine is not even a brown cauliflower then, more of an upside down artichoke.

I thought the term 'cauliflower head' referred to the tight perm favoured by many white-haired elderly women, more in the past than now though.

Who'd have thought I'd be looking anxiously for grey hairs so that I can go purple?

Wow, I had no intention of upsetting anyone with this. I have happily been grey after losing all my hair (never found out why). I can assure you, MawBroon, I didn't presume to think you would be interested in the colour of my hair or if indeed I had fairylights in it. (Only at Christmas) There is a lot of advice on how to go grey but just wondered if anyone had done it in reverse.I know many women who look stunning with grey hair. It was prior to the performance that I noticed this and indeed I would have noticed if almost without exception the rest of the audience had only brown or blonde hair. To those of you who have made helpful comments, thank you.

Why is a field of grey (cauliflowers ) any worse than a sea of blonde or a sea of brown?

I went to see Gerry and the New Pacemakers. Our local town hall has steep seats sloping towards the stage. We were dazzled by all the bald heads.

Some young people deliberately go grey - it's fashionable!!! If it suits you go with the flow. My DD & I were laughing last night by the fact I don't think of myself as grey haired - just nicely shaded . I keep my hair short & spiky. I've added the odd purple streak from time to time and also light blonde streaks - just to liven it up and be different. Does it really matter what other people's hair looks like?

I've heard the term cauliflower heads before - it was referring to much older women e.g. the queen, who have that white-haired shampoo & set hair do.

Other than HM I don't see much of it these days - it is very fuddy-duddy but it's a cruel description however I must admit it made me laugh because it's accurate

To answer the OP, I don't think a few low/highlights will clash with your current wardrobe.

Happy to be a cauliflower head, far better than not be here at all.

I like afternoon theatre and cinema visits as I often go alone and it's easy to discuss what we've seen in the interval or afterwards. I do like to get other views on what I've seen. Chatted with two women after Lion in the loo. I've also got into conversation with a group of teenagers in the interval at Of Mice and Men, some were at their first live performance.

Actually that made me for being so ageist and dismissive of the theatregoers in front of you.
Frankly it is all the same to me whether you have highlights, lowlights or fairy lights put in your hair, but why disparage other women.

This post made me ! Firstly I didn't know what it would be about - a farm field? Brains? A shipment container of cauliflowers spilt at sea?

I hope I'm not a cauliflower (my hair is straight). I'd be a waterfall, I think.
