Three quarter sleeves or sleeveless dresses look better than short sleeved( which are the worst of all worlds unless you have very slim arms.)
Edge to edge waterfall cardigans in a thin material look good, or boleros.

Yes but what is the answer to hot days? I stll wear things I bought from Debenham's in the 90s. They have a longer sleeve made from a soft flowing material called viskose in Germany and are natural colours not these bright reds, greens and blues.

Glenfinnan, here's a link to a jacket something similar to mine, www.qvcuk.com/Long-Sleeve-Deco-Fleur-Lace-Edge-to-Edge-Cardigan-by-Michele-Hope.product.159294.html.
Here's a photo of my jacket. You can wear it with dressy clothes for evenings or you can dress up jeans and jeggings. I love mine.

I've not looked at this thread so far as the title had me worried it was about gun-smuggling.

With today's light materials, short sleeves are not too much bother to wear, as long as they are not too tight. Also cover up not- or badly shaved armpits!

I generally wear a cotton bolero cardigan from Debenhams with sleeveless summer dresses and tops. Short, rounded front edges, very flattering! They generally do them in an assortment of colours. Been looking at M&S tops with sleeves and they still haven't understood that they're not selling to size zero, six foot tall fashionistas! Grrrrr M&S......no wonder your clothing sales are on the slide!

I've got a lovely edge to edge cardigan made from very light material. It's a great piece that does the job nicely. I got it from QVC. I don't do much telly shopping but happened upon it one day last summer. I'm a size 14 but they had them in all sizes. I've also got a poncho/cape thing that covers the tops of my arms.

Tops with sleeves. My dil keeps telling me statement sleeves are 'the thing'. Take advantage of all those flute sleeve type things. Or would something like this suit you? I'm thinking of buying it actually www.johnlewis.com/hobbs-gail-bardot-top-indigo-marl/p3218044

I don't show my arms much too flabby! I've got too many cardigans, but would like to get a layered look/modern look. I'm a size 20/22 so don't wear anything bulky. Anyone got any ideas?
