Goldengirl, if you decide to use Bare Minerals, have a look online or watch QVC to get the technique right. The first time I bought it, I didn't do it correctly, left it for a while, went back to it months later and discovered I really liked it. I have problems with dexterity and find it much easier to put on than liquid foundation.

Is Boots makeup cruelty free? I note they sell Bare Minerals which I shall try.

I have at last found a make up which suits my sensitive skin, Bare Minerals.It looks natural and lasts all day. The concealer, is great for toning down the redness on my skin. I don't wear their mascara, as I have very sensitive eyes, but Clinique does the trick.

My daughter is a Rep for Tropic skincare, they do not test on animals and all the products are Vegan.

I've used LFF make up for a year now and although expensive, it is good and lasts. Like others here I'm not too keen on the Foundation, it has rather a strange smell but the primer is good. My favourite is the blush which looks very natural.
Used everyday I don't find the concealer lasts very long so use Maybelline Anti age Eraser Eye which is inexpensive and effective. LLF recommend using brushes to apply the make up and I bought a Groupon offer of a pack of 32 for £6 but not all of them are used on my face!

I use a mixture - Boots no7 foundation, Liz Earle moisturiser. The lipstick that will stay on me has yet to be invented. And don't mention MF Lipfinity because that blistered my lips!

I love the LFF concealer, mine has lasted 18 months so far and so it is worth every penny. I had never used primers before I found LFF but find them indispensable now.

I've also used Lookfabulousforever and agree with eddiecat78 as I didn't like the foundation but do think the primer for use underneath foundation makes a huge difference. I use it under a clarins tinted mousteriser and it stayed put during the heatwave last week. I also like the lip and eye primer.

Nannyme - I`ve used Lookfabulousforever and find most of their products very good. The lipstick and lip primer work really well and I like the mascara and eye colours. I didn`t like the foundation but the Primer for use under foundation makes a huge difference.
It is a bit expensive but they do have offers - especially when you first buy. I find their videos very useful too - it`s nice to see older women being used as models!

There are lots of tutorials on You Tube- some are amazing - the number of products and different brushes I saw one young woman use!!!!

I use middle of the road prices, Elizabeth Arden etc. Face cream from the supermarket.

One day I will ask for make up advice from one of the beauty counters but in the meantime I just do my best, throw on the slap, and don't look too bad (relatively speaking)

So many major brands are still tested on animals. Don't be fooled by the EU ban, supposedly imposed in 2013, testing is still going on and we're all unwittingly supporting it.

Oh and this link is also out of date. Dermalogica was sold to Unilever last year so is no longer on the cruelty free list (sadly - their products were the only ones my skin could tolerate at one point, but I'll just have to manage without). The list changes all the time so if you care it's important to do your homework.

I found I need more and better moisturisers rather than anything else and I just stick to Clinique and Clarins.

Nannyme I got great makeup advice from Mac counter in local dept store, really really helpful girls, all fairly young and drop dead gorgeous, don't let that put you off, they were brilliant, wanted me to feel and look my very best, great range, colours, etc, and not too expensive, showed me how to use products, advised on just about everything. If you don't have mac counter near you, try others in store, better than on line as you get to see colours and handle stuff before you buy, even my daughter was impressed and she's somewhat picky, go for it, for me also a good confidence boost

My skin is so sensitive that I stopped wearing any make up years ago. My sisters don't either.

I find as I get older I wear less makeup and I certainly wouldn't pay those prices.
