can anyone recommend any, I know there are various well known makes..the sort that you moisturize with and it has a slight tanning effect...

I need something for my Lilly white legs!! cant show you a pic as you wouldn't be able to see them against the white background grin believe me they are pure white! (due to wearing trousers/jeans all the time) also I have very fair skin (original redhead) anyone use this stuff ? prose n cons..

I've been using Dove. Very gradual, but has made my legs look less like two sticks of celery!
Started off using a mitt to apply it but that was too much faff so now just give my hands a good wash after smoothing it in.

My Friend has recommended the Dove one too, I think it's in a tube and is on offer at Asda. I bought the Garnier one but have since thrown it away as it was patchy.

Picked up the Dove one on a whim the other day. Very subtle and its a nice moisturiser in its own right - decent scent.
However, I'd like to shop around sometime and find another product....it worries me that brands like Dove seem to be conquering the world!

I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Body Lotion.
It's lovely, just a couple of morning applications and the difference was quite noticeable.
It's also got a nice fragrance, not at all 'self tanny', and as it contains such a small amount of self tan, it's much less likely go go blotchy,
I have very, very light skin, and burn easily, so tend to mostly stay out of the sun, but I still want the bronzed look!

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze, I use daily, it moisturises for 24 hours and you don't get the Tango'd effect. One tube lasts the whole summer. It's the third year I've used it. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Haven't used any for years, but I remember that you have to be very thorough and be sure to rub it in very evenly. Once it's on, it's on, stripes and all.

Everyone so far makes it sound so easy - perhaps I'll start using one again. Especially if they don't have that awful smell any more.

Biker Fab to catch up with you after a while,I have used Palmers Cocoa Butter Body Lotion and found it very good I also am very fair skinned and have milk bottle legs hidden under jeans for the whole winter, what I do when I've done the legs is a swift wipe across the chest area with any left on my hands to give a hint of colour if wearing a low cut t-shirt.When you are all coloured up will you be wearing a mini skirt on you bike when you are out and about (he-he) sending love.

I have tried many self tanning products but have found most of them unsatisfactory in one way or another. Most of them either looked streaky or seemed darker below my ankle bones and I found I could rub it off leaving white patches.

I keep returning to Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster. It is expensive but you only use 5 drops 'per leg'! The trick is to mix it with your own moisturiser. I find the body butters too greasy when mixing this though. I've ended up using Nivea Soft moisturising cream with the Clarins. The combination doesn't give a dark tan, just a pale gold but looks very natural. I've used the same bottle of Clarins for two years now and am about to buy another one.
