One thing I've learnt over the years is to take advice from a makeup counter professional. That is,of course,if there's one you feel comfortable with. Saves getting stuck in a rut of buying the same stuff over and again.

There is no best colour for lipstick as each of us needs a different colour palette to look right.Broadly speaking fair skin looks better using pink and peachy colours, darker skin needs more browny toned ones, it's all trial and error.

I'm with LadyGracie. I've never liked the 'feel' of lipstick on my lips.

I like browny pink or browny red colours but they don't stay on long enough for me to decide which is best!!!

I like purpley pink colours, the ones which shimmer a bit. I'll wear a colour to match what I'm wearing too, though.

I have never really worn lipstick, I don't know what to do with my mouth with it on. On the rare occasions I do (2014 DD wedding) DH asked what I had on my mouth!

I have approx. 20 lipsticks roughly similar shades - I like something glossy but not too bright more fushcia than pink or red. Favourites are Chanel for long lasting and Clinique for everyday but I have a lovely Dior one which lasts well without looking clownish (872).

yup that's me now Maw smile . I used to wear it every day when I was working but don't really bother now . There's probably one in every bag I own , just in case !!

I like a soft pink or a nude.

Or do they, like me, buy them and leave them in the bathroom/make up bag/bottom of the handbag? hmm

Do people change the colour of their lipstick according to their clothes or wear a colour that suits regardless?

My favourite is by Clinique called Grape Pop a light purple shade which goes with everything I wear.

.........what colours do you usually go for?....I tend to wear Browns/ natural or like dull pinks, I don't like/ or suit any bright colours. Yet my daughter can wear bright pink and reds and really suit her...certainly wouldn't suit me lol .
