Fluffy Eyelash Cardigan - advice please

I do put mine in the dryer, Wilma, though it says not to. Fluffs it up a treat.

I can see how a tumble dryer would help. How long do you leave it in Maggie?

Well if you haven’t got a tumble dryer not much good at looking to that as an answerm but if you can borrow one I’d put it in on a very low or cool dry for about 15 minutes after it s mostly dry, it may help fluff it up

When it’s almost dry, fluff it up with a hairdryer.
I fluff up my paint rollers this way and it works on their fibres.

It just goes in as does any other light stuff, Wilma, on the cooler setting for half an hour or so. To be honest, the only things I don't put in the tumbler are pure wool, and I've never had a problem.

Assuming of course that you have a friend who could help or a laundrette nearby.

I have a similar cardigan and have washed it once or twice (inside a pillow slip). Wool wash programme with wool washing agent. Just a shake when it comes out of the machine, a couple of hours on a hanger and it's fine again.

Sorry to say that you may have spoiled it for good by washing it perhaps too harshly. If you haven't, then try the dryer suggestions. It can't come to any harm if it's mainly synthetic. Not to be recommended for wool or silk, though.

I did wash it on the wool programme (30 minutes at 30 degrees and 800 spin) and inside a laundry net bag. I was thinking of asking to use my Mum's tumble dryer. It doesn't look awful, just not as good as it was before. I only washed it last night and it's drying flat at the moment. I might try the hair dryer on the it.

As J52 said in an earlier post, the hairdryer will work just fine. If it has already dried flat just hang it on a hanger and give it a light spray of water then blast it with the hair dryer. Works a treat for feathers too.
