According to the Daily Mail Online, This Dress is the latest must have for fashion bloggers.
It looks to me like a nightdress my Granny might have worn.
What do you think?

I had a similar nightie, I think it came from a "Pippa Dee" party (anyone remember them) No wonder they are no longer around!!!!

Awful frock I wouldn't rely on M & S for anything these days.

There are loads of positive comments below the pics in The Mail!!! Hideous!

Dreadful and the other dresses are hideous too. confused

Miss A, so funny.

Jalima, you brought back memories for me of DD1 and I with matching long dresses in the early seventies. They were nice though, dark backgrounds with a floral print. DD was so tiny then and loved hers, she is 44 now.

grin

GillT57 Tue 13-Feb-18 23:11:02

saw it today in bright yellow. ?

M0nica Tue 13-Feb-18 23:01:12

I have always considered that M&S designed its clothes for women 20 years older than me.

I am now 75 so I assume it is the latest fashion in shrouds, it certainly looks like it.

Style blogger Emily Johnston - better known as Fashion Foie Gras, was one of dozens of people who raved about the dress online

Surely no-one, but no-one would called themselves Fashion Foie Gras??
Fat Liver ??

Tell me it's not true

MissA grin

MissA Hahahaha. grin

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Feb-18 22:52:21

Laura Ashley with a big floppy hat was more 70s I think - strolling barefoot through the meadows, preferably with a mini-me tot dressed in an identical dress and cute straw hat.

Day6 Tue 13-Feb-18 22:49:31

It is hideous. It looks very dowdy and prim and proper and the colour is awful.

I don't understand the 'must have' urge. I only hanker after things I like, not things featured in papers, magazines or on line. It implies that if you don't get it you are missing out and not keeping up with trends. Silly marketing ploy which some people fall for.

It's akin to being ripped off because you'll only buy designer labelled goods at highly inflated prices. If people cannot think for themselves I feel sorry for them.

PageTurner Tue 13-Feb-18 22:45:57

Good grief, Charlie Brown. I was hoping it would be a cute wrap dress..this one is beyond awful.

MissAdventure Tue 13-Feb-18 22:34:51

Its set to 'fly off the shelves'.
It really could, if a strong gust of wind got underneath it.

hildajenniJ Tue 13-Feb-18 22:30:45

Here's the page from the Mail Online. Scroll down to see a model wearing the dress.
HERE I don't think it looks any better on an actual person.

BlueBelle Tue 13-Feb-18 22:08:18

Grannyactivist not sure where you sister went in the 60 s but I was in mini skits (very mini) and high white boots Never wore anything like that looks more Victorian than 60s

Deedaa Tue 13-Feb-18 22:01:18

There must be so many talented designers coming out of colleges and M&S are managing not to employ any of them!

SpringyChicken Tue 13-Feb-18 21:51:28

That's what my mum would have called it too, MissAdventure. It reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies. Don't know why. Sort of thing they'd have for Sunday best.

MissAdventure Tue 13-Feb-18 21:48:25

The elastic parts remind me of when my mum would sew shirring elastic into our socks and things. Not sure shirring is a word, but it sounded like that.

JoyBloggs Tue 13-Feb-18 21:47:27

MissAdventure grin

Chewbacca Tue 13-Feb-18 21:46:05

grin MissA

MissAdventure Tue 13-Feb-18 21:45:03

I think I could be mistaken for a yurt if I wore that.

cornergran Tue 13-Feb-18 21:38:19

Err. Not for me. Oh dear m&s, think I’ll pass on this one.

nanaK54 Tue 13-Feb-18 21:16:40

Wow, just wow, how hideous is that

Chewbacca Tue 13-Feb-18 21:13:16

It's almost as though M & S have a death wish, isn't it? Maybe they want to close more than 14 stores and they're going about it by only stocking fancy dress?
