According to the Daily Mail Online, This Dress is the latest must have for fashion bloggers.
It looks to me like a nightdress my Granny might have worn.
What do you think?

I read some of the reviews- hilarious- one thought that it was a pretty spring dress- did she buy the same disaster that we have been looking at? Maybe a trip to Specsavers?

Another also bought it but said the colour resembled grannie's pink knickers. There were 12 reviews- I am amazed that as many as twelve bought that monstrosity.

The one in the picture looks as if it has one of those patterns that make your eyes go squiffy (without having a glass of wine)

Tbh the pinky one reminds me of something the Amish women would wear - high neck, long sleeves and long skirt! It just needs the bonnet. Must admit I live in jeans and jumper - just a relic from the sixties!

I tried on a vertical striped linen dress. I looked like a deck chair.

At least that one goes in around the middle - apparently a lot of this year's dresses don't!

MissAdventure Thu 12-Apr-18 23:04:12

Lovely. I think I'd look like a very full bag of turnips in that.

Chewbacca Thu 12-Apr-18 23:02:34

This one?

Jalima1108 Thu 12-Apr-18 22:53:58

I should have got the girls to do it (both size 10 - 12, unlike me) but they said the dresses were like flowery sacks.

MissAdventure Thu 12-Apr-18 22:51:12

We really need someone to try on some of these creations and post pics.

I was in M & S earlier this week and they've still got racks and racks of unsold stuff in the sale. It's now 70% off and they still can't shift it. Wonder why? grin

Jalima1108 Thu 12-Apr-18 22:44:28

It's not just our age group.

The DD went on a shopping trip this week and were horrified at the 'dreadful clothes' in the shops - there was nothing to buy that was in the least bit flattering.

Charleygirl Sat 07-Apr-18 14:25:23

Elaine1 I would not wear that monstrosity as a dressing gown even around the house if you paid me.

Chewbacca Sat 07-Apr-18 14:14:10

Wonder what happens to the vast mountains of hideous, unsold garments at the end of every season? Anyone know?

Jalima1108 Sat 07-Apr-18 14:09:35

'Must have' grandma60 grin

Likewise that one Deedaa - but then my skinny DD could wear that and look stunning!
But she would never go into M&S to shop except for bras.

There is now a similar style dress to the germolene one in navy blue net with floral embroidery.

Deedaa Fri 06-Apr-18 22:00:56

And here's another old ladies nightie from M&S

hildajenniJ Wed 21-Mar-18 23:09:49

Honestly, they're just getting worse and worse. I saw the germolene pink one with the frilly sleeves in our local M&S, it didn't look any better in the flesh grin. That ginghamy thing is hideous.

Now I know what to do with old school dresses and tea towels.

ElaineI Tue 20-Mar-18 21:11:28

Looks like a dressing gown!

Deedaa Tue 20-Mar-18 21:02:29

I don't even know where to start with the check monstrosity! I just can't imagine what was going on in the designer's head. The previous one looks like something off a market stall, but £89 ?????

rockgran Tue 20-Mar-18 17:23:10

Just say NO!

Jalima1108 Tue 20-Mar-18 16:33:33

To be fair Blinko they did use a larger model for the ghastly trench coat but she was young and gorgeous!
grin
Even she couldn't make it look appealing.

Blinko Tue 20-Mar-18 16:23:01

I've just regifted (!) an M&S voucher I received at Christmas grin

Chewbacca Tue 20-Mar-18 14:44:16

To be fair Blinko, I dont think anyone, no matter what size or height, would look good in either of those monstrosities! I nipped into M & S today and they've got racks and racks and racks of clothes at 50% off. And they're still unwearble. Nasty cheap fabrics, flouncy sleeves and garish colours. They seem determined not to learn that this is just not what women want to wear. Oh well!
