Nail varnish

I've got several shades of blue polish which are nice - the denim colour is particularly good for wearing with jeans. I can't just wear ordinary polish as my nails are appalling and just split so use a gel and lamp then the different colours over it.

Never do my fingers, very bad nails that split and break all the time, but my toes are always polished!

One of my Christmas presents from Mr P was a set of 24 different nail polishes!

I like to try to sort of match or at least coordinate the colour with what I'm wearing, which can mean frequent changes. I'm not the best at applying it though, however Mr P does a pretty good job!

So it can work, but I fear if I tried it myself, it would just look like some weird fungal disorder.

I keep trying with nail nurse but there is no improvement to my nails

NanKate I have pale blue during the summer on fingers and toes and use Mavala colours when I do them myself.
At the minute I have a french manicure done at the salon in shellac it is finished with a pale pink top coat which has glitter in it and will last about a month.

I sometimes wear a pretty, pale blue on my toe nails. I have just been to the podiatrist, it's Spring........ so what am I waiting for?

In my teens I had a crush on Sean Connery. Bond didn't like nail polish so I never formed the habit of using it.

I was approximately 5 when my mother in the early 1970s applied a Mavala polish to my nails as a treat! It was a beautiful navy blue colour.

For many years I was an OPI addict and I love Essie as well but I've returned to my Mavala brand as they offer such lovely colours and they last well on my nails.

Incidentally if you want strong but flexible nails I've forsaken all the lotions, oils etc and rub a tiny amount of Vaseline into my nails at bedtime and it makes them fabulous!

Yes, I have a sparkly electric blue varnish which I love to wear, especially in summer, and a pale blue which I was initially unsure about but it looks great. Go for it!

I must get some OPI Nail Envy; my once strong nails are now cut as short as possible and break/split constantly. I no longer draw attention to my horrible knobbly hands [which were once the only part of me that I was proud of ].

There's no point in me painting my own nails, I can't make them look professional. Also they're chipped not day no matter that I use opi polish with base coats and top coats.
On a day to day basis I use a Sally Hanson Revitalizing product. It gives a nice healthy pinkish see through sheen.

However for holidays, events, etc I have gel polish done at a salon and have often use coffee tones, dark berry purples (to match the purple streak in my hair).
I've never used a blue but admire it on others. It just doesn't suit the skin tone of my hands.

She used to move her hands around a lot when she spoke, and the blue nails reminded me of little blue butterflies fluttering around her face. Yes I've used Nail Envy and found it very good. I do like the Mavala nail polishes, there not expensive and have some super co!ours for all seasons. I normally do my own nails but they don't last long so am always touching them up........best not to look too close!!

I do sometimes NanKate. I've got a couple of very dark OPI colours, one of which is a petrol blue shade. Its very nice too but I've found that, even with a base coat under it, my nails are stained. I also have a deep rich purple shade, almost black, and that doesn't seem to stain the same. Maybe something in the pigments? Has anyone tried the OPI Nail Envy? I've recently started to use it and I'm impressed with the results. My fragile, brittle nails are now as hard as.... well, nails! Really has made a huge difference.

I wear all colours depending on the season and what I’m wearing etc. I like dark colours in winter and have worn black, navy and very dark red but in spring and summer I wear lighter colours especially coral.

I have worn blue nail varnish - a sort of midnight blue with glittery bits in for New Year’s Eve as I was wearing a navy dress. I have also had a teal coloured polish in the summer, very nice it is too. My local nail bar do gel colour “chrome” which they put a black base then a sort of powdery stuff ( not very technical) which give a shimmery two toned colour. Nice thing about nail colour is - if you don’t like it you can change it!

I have worn a light blue in summer and been complimented on it. I do wear a deep burgundy at times (always with two clear undercoats) but I leave the black to braver/younger ladies.

I do! But not always on my finger nails. I paint my toe nails alternately blue and green or sometimes purple and cerise pink! Christmas they go green and red! If you like it do it!

I can't wear nail varnish as it would be chipped within minutes! I do a lot of hands-on 'stuff' in the house and garden and can't be bothered to worry about nails. I just keep them very short.
