Looking for a flattering swimming costume

My floral old faithful has reached the end of its life. The one arm is definitely lacking in elasticity and I'm worried I might have a wardrobe malfunction next time I dare wear it! That would be horrible for anyone to see grin. But I've had it so long I don't really know where to start looking for a replacement. I'm shall we say 'blessed' in the bosom department, have not much waist to speak of and would like something both comfortable and pretty. Any ideas?

I also recommend a tankini. Not sure if you can get Lands End in the UK, but they have an awesome selection in all sorts of sizes with lots of coverage. They are very well made and have good prices. Tops can mix and match with swim skirts. I just bought a high-neck top -- finally something to cover my wrinkly cleavage!.

NanKate
I have bought several tops from rotita. It's very good value.
No problem with returns, either.

I lament the demise of BHS on the High Street. Brilliant swimsuits for the well-endowed and you could try them on. I know they are now online but do they have the same suppliers/fit? Bought a nice fitting one from Tu last year so will probably buy from them again.

I bought a swim dress last year. Only problem is that I am not very tall and it did look more like a dress but I thought maybe the longer the better! However I did end up with lots of wet material floating about and it took ages to dry!

The Liz Hurley range look lovely but over £170 for a swimsuit!!!

Anyone know where I can get a long-bodied one piece? I always bought from BHS and I'm overdue a replacement. Tankinis are no good for me as they don't meet in the middle, exposing my pot belly!

Bravissimo, without any doubt.

I can't understand why so many swimsuits for the mature figure have diagonal swathes of extra fabric encasing the bosom, adding extra volume. It may be supposed to camouflage any lumpiness, but I find it just adds padding to a heavy bust, making it look more like a bolster than a bosom.

Nice prices too!

I love Liz Hurley Range.

I look better in a bikini than a one piece and her range is fantastic. They are great quality and cut well. The link is for one pieces as you said swimming costume.

M@Co also have a great selection if you need to mix and match top and bottom sizes.

There are some fabulous makes on TKMaxx online, in costumes and tankini, they are designed for curvy figures and really flatter. I got one reduced from £85 to £20.

I also wear Bon Marche. They are quite cheap and designed for the larger ladies.

I solved the problem of needing a wee urgently when wearing a swimming costume by not trying to take it off but just pulling aside the crotch part. Never had an "accident" when relieving myself this way!

Tu at Sainsbury's has some bright floral/tropical ones. Wish I'd waited but got a good tankini via M& Co after seeing a post on another thread a few months ago

Thank you, Hildaj. I've just pursued your swimdress tip. Looks perfect for me. Bless GN (sometimes!)

Posted too soon. Zoggs do chlorine resistant but I don't think all are. Their sales very good value.

SeaWatcher Sat 26-May-18 11:32:04

Try Zoggs. Chlorine resistant and styles to suit various body shapes.

NanKate. I have bought from Rotita (not swimwear) and they are very good, but the sizes tend to be on the small side, so it might be wise to look at their 'sizing page' first. Also, 365 Swimwear have some lovely styles for all ages. Hope this helps.

I also find the Landsend costumes wear well, and comfortable and they have a range of sizes and styles, they have lots of choice in separates.

Telly Fri 25-May-18 19:10:44

I usually buy from Lands End. They have designs to suit every figure and you will feel confident wearing them. They even have suits that have some control built in!

NanKate Fri 25-May-18 19:07:03

Whilst replying to you flashing to the right of me is an advert for Rotita swimwear it looks fab. I am going to look it up on Google.

Triumph Doreen swimming costume - you buy it by bust size. Flattering and comfortable.

I have similar problem-well Imsee it as a problem. I don't like swimsuits with foam cups and always go for an under wired bra fitting one, either a tankini ( good if you are desperate for the loo) or a one piece. Fantasie do lovely ones but they are v expensive. Some places do them in sales . Figleaves a good place to look
