I must say I stick to a lot of black, grey and blue but the Queen here looks sensational in every colour!

When I looked at my summer clothes hanging in the wardrobe it was a sea of blues! Navy blue, pale blue, mid blue, turquoise blue..... But it does make it easier to put things together. Probably very boring though. smile

Chewbacca

I agree, it's much easier to put an outfit together!

HM Queen has to wear very bright distinctive colours so that she stands out and is very visible.
I wèar clothes that I hope people don't remember and recognise, as I wear them for several reasons.
It is a matter of economics with me, not something HM has to consider.

I have a few tops in bright colours but my 'bottoms' are usually boring black in the winter and navy or beige linen in the summer.

Same here Chewy ( wardrobes full of shades of blue) so much so that I have to now think before I buy anything, to make sure it’s a different colour,I like greens and pinks, so must go for them in future.

I love wearing colour and black plays only a small part in my wardrobe. Apart from anything else it makes me look as if I am attending my own funeral.

I stick to colors that suit me, the autumn colours and jewel colours. Having said that, this summer I often wear a bright yellow floral top over violet trousers. I can feel your winces. I also have a turquoise and blue dress bought from the late lamented East.

Black is the one colour I choose to avoid apart from 1 pair of black smartish trousers.

I tend to go for Navy and Sand as basic colours........and then choosing a riot of lovely colours as blouses/tops/scarves etc.
There was a time my wardrobe looked a little like a rainbow, but nowadays, although a lover of colour, especially purples, and all blue/green shades, I am far more careful in getting my colours right...... so that although I much admire our Queen,.......I have no wish to stand out in a crowd!!!

I too have found bright yellow quite appealing this year Monica, whilst believe me ..........Good on you for wearing it with violet.
Yes others may wince, but what I see is a certain flamboyance.............and dare I add........panache!!!!
Furthermore I bet it makes you feel alive and great!!!

Yellow is quite a difficult colour to wear and generally looks better with darker skin, but pale lemon can look very good on fairer skins. There should be a shade that suits everyone, a good tip when buying any colour ( for a top or dress) is to put the garment right next to your face and look in the store mirror.

If I did that lemongrove I would never buy anything! I'd rather bring the clothes home and try them on in my bedroom - with the right shoes, trousers etc.

grin Oh dear, Danni are you saying no colour looks good next to your face?

Surely by ur age we should know what colours suit us and what do not. I steer clear of black, purple (despite my purple trousers!) and green, although I can wear some grey greens. I look bests in all shades from cream through yellow to browns.

I can't wear grey or yellow or that certain shade of pale pink.

Well not when I am out shopping and hot and bothered lemongrove!!

Everyone tells me, all the time, that I look best in pillar box red. That’s always what I turn out to be wearing when someone tells me I’m looking well. Very limiting tho, except at Christmas with fir tree greengrin. Maybe I should wear more lipstick.
