I have about 40 scarves , I can't part with them , some I where as a pashmina, a sarong , and some as just a scarf! I love the way Mary Berry ties her scarf , it looks so different ,Cherry tree, what a great idea hanging them from a shower curtain ring, I must try that,

For large winter scarves I use trouser clip hangers.
Just remembered I do have some chiffon and silk type scarves in a drawerblush
Also silk scarf that belonged to my late mother .

I love the idea of scarves and I love them on other people but I always feel a complete idiot if I wear one myself - really self conscious. No idea why this could be ?

I hang my scarves rather than keeping in a drawer.
I have a couple of scarf hangers
and I use shower curtain rings looped over coat hangers.
Each hanger holds several scarves of particular shade or colour.

Am the same, a whole deep drawer filled with scarves ( and not the warm Winter ones, they have a different drawer all to themselves.)
This isn’t an age thing, I have always used scarves a lot as my Mother passed on the wise advice when I was a teenager, that although we couldn’t afford much ( to spend on clothes)
You could buy a cheap item, change the buttons and wear a colourful scarf.
It’s also a good way to keep up with fashion colours as a scarf doesn’t cost much.

I love love love scarves, I have five drawers full and stuffed with scarves. As pp said, I can match a scarf to anything. Some have been gifts and quite expensive, others are from market stalls or a charity shop. All are loved.

At one time there was a clearance and loads went to the charity shop.
Since then I have tried to cull my collection but as I go through them there just aren't any that don't serve a purpose. At present I have a cream lace one wrapped around the pot of a peace lily to make the pot fit into my colour scheme. Attached photo is the same scarf wrapped around some tulips and eucalyptus because I only had a clear glass vase and didn't want the stems on show.

And its name to The Chiltern Firehouse!

Doodle Tue 05-Jun-18 19:39:11

No maw grin According to DH I never look where I'm going or what I am doing. On two separate occasions, I have set fire to the menus in the same restaurant by lowering one end into the candle on the table and setting them on fire. The restaurant has now changed its menus to a much smaller size blush

Is your middle name Isadora Duncan Doodle ?

Doodle Tue 05-Jun-18 19:25:13

Mine is/was a beautiful cerise scarf that brightened up anything I wore....until I leant to close to a candle and set it alight ? I then bought another of the same colour and loved it until it got caught in the mechanism of a rotating door and had to be surgically removed. I am not sure if I dare buy a third one blush

Have you been reading my mind................or rummaging through my several drawers ??!!

Back through the ages I have been collecting and I don`t think there is a colour scheme ever created that I cannot find a complimentary scarf to match in my collection.

I wonder what the overall name could be for us scarfaholics?

It brightens up life........ and our faces....... as we age!!!

Rather like a new lippy my go-to “pick me up” is invariably a new scarf, in fact I find them almost impossible to resist.
Whether it’s a £6 cheapo from our local market (great selection, fantastic value) or one from Joules who design them in colourways to go with their Harbour tops or my latest, a pashmina made of recycled cashmere from Turtle Doves, they just lift my spirits.
I am incapable of parting with any of them too, so I have drawers full! blush
