Used Mother of the Bride Outfits

Sorry, I should have said why can't your son's mother in law wear it again?

Why can't you wear the outfit again? I realise it might not be possible to wear the hat again but is it not possible to wear the dress? I appreciate you might not want to wear it for everyday occasions but perhaps you could keep it for next time you go somewhere special?

I suppose, if you really want to sell it, you could try advertising it in the local paper although I accept that many people buy things via internet now.

I bought both of my MOB outfits & hats on ebay and sold them on again after the events for rather nice profits,when selling on ebay I always state that I will accept a return if the outfit didn't suit or the colour was wrong for the purchaser but I have never had a return.
I love local facebook ads for special items and you may do well there and if the buyer is local they can collect from you.

Why sell ? I wore my outfits until they no longer fit, granted only for posh outings but they were so expensive and very pretty that I wasn't about to sell them for coppers.

stella1949 - when I retired my daughter and daughter-in-law thought it would be a good idea to give me all the things they wanted to sell, mainly childrens, to keep me occupied. We always split the money so it was a little bit of extra income for me. My dil's mum new this and asked if I could sell these for her and also split the money.

Sold a mother of the groom outfit easily. It was unworn as I had (unintentionally) lost weight before the weddings. A dummy run 10 days before the wedding to decide between two bags showed it was far too big. There was much panic before a replacement was found. Suspect many things impact, the season, size, changes in fashion. Our family have a lot of success with Facebook selling, also Gumtree in our area. Good luck, hope you are successful.

Selling used clothes is not easy. I'm sure that most women who are going to be the mother of the bride, want to buy something new from the shop. Good luck ( and really, why is this your job ? Why doesn't she do this herself ?)

Gave mine to a charity shop. It hadn’t been expensive though.

On our behalf, our daughter has sold masses of stuff this weekend on various Face Book Pages , she even managed to sell our sports car, we had advertised on eBay, and various car on line magazines but she sold it in 3 hours.

Just ask for cash only and try to specify a collection day and time, that way if they don’t show up you can relist immediately.

I still have mine, several years later and have worn it on a couple of occasiobs.

try the Bridal pages on FB, they sell wedding gowns and paraphernalia and MOB outfits.

Or eBay?

Do you have a local facebook page? Or a local online 'marketplace'? Either might do the trick. Good luck, anyway.
