I'm getting married in 6 weeks and on to my third pair of wedding shoes - all sent back. My problem is I can't do heels any more so I've been looking for sandle wedges with a heel no more than 3 cms. Also so my feet are quite swollen so will need a wide fit. I've tried all the usual suspects M and S, Debenhams, John Lewis and on line from America. All I want is white or Ivory with a bit of bling. I have bough some from Shuropody with the idea of sticking on some diamante but have decided they really are too old fogey - a step too far!!! Ha!. HELP!!!

I have problems getting shoes too, wide feet with bunions and a high arch, and I find Evans very good too.

Have you tried Damart? Their shoes are wide fitting.

Hi. Try Evans or one of the shops for larger ladies, their shoes are wide fit.

Have a lovely day

Hi Mumski,
Firstly HUGE congratulations upon your forthcoming nuptials, hope everything goes well. I’ve found some inexpensive white comfortable looking Lilley (low heeled) wedges with small diamante detailing in sizes 5 through to 9 with one reviewer saying they are large in size. Just the job for standing most of the day. To add a bit more blingy embellishment to the shoes, I also know that Amazon and eBay do crystal rhinestone shoe clips for weddings, parties etc. I attach a picture of the shoes with two ideas for clips though there are lots to choose from. Meantime best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

I’ve recently bought some flat sparkly sandals from Clark’s. They might not have what you are looking for, Mumski, but mine are really comfortable and might work for some Grans who are seeking flat/low-heeled sandals with a wee bit of bling.

I have bought some stylish (but no so comfortable shoes) for the photos and have a super comfortable pair in my larger bag that I am leaving to hand. My clutch bag is only for show too. I know, I know, I have caught the belt and braces habit from DH.........

Just been on eBay. There’s a ‘pair’ L=4.5, R=5!
Someone must need them??
They are Gabor, very nice and we all have odd feet don’t we?

have you tried ambrose wilson, they do different widths

I'm having the same problem finding a comfortable shoe/sandal to wear with a dress for a wedding, have tried on lots and nothing quite works, colours is wrong or they hurt. Have an old pair, nice dressy looking with a small heel which are comfortable but too worn to wear. I'm off out later today to try again. ExaltedWombat I care, think quite a few of us do too.

I too would suggest Hotter.

GrannyKnot

...and white.
Yes, they do look 'modern' smart and suitable for a spring/summer wedding. smile

SIL's niece got married in converse trainers, nowadays you can buy lovely sparkly trainers. Strappy glitzy sandals would serve the purpose, trillions to chose from.

MawBroon I didn't pay £69 (that would have killed me given it's fake rope-soles, two straps of wide elastic and a couple of strips of bling grin - I got mine on the sale.

But they're super shoes.

Watching Lorraine this morning you can now buy crocs with a high heel just a suggestion?

Gma29 Tue 24-Jul-18 10:11:43

I sympathise, I live in trainers and virtually flat sandals without a problem until there is the need to look a bit dressier, and a dress does usually look better with a bit of a heel. I also would recommend Hotter, and I have had a pair from Moshulu that were comfortable, but more casual.

Farrsan2003 Tue 24-Jul-18 10:08:15

These shoes from Hotter are stylish but also incredibly comfortable. They also have them in soft pink and beigy colour

Whatever shoes you choose buy a comfortable pair of flaties to change into if you need to. I was at a wedding last summer and only made it to the end of the ceremony in my “wedding” shoes. My husband went back to the car for my spare shoes. I couldn’t have walked there in the ones I was wearing. I thankfully changed, then one after the other most of the other female guests did the same.

I would go round the shops and try them on . Plenty of sales . You need comfort .

ExaltedWombat Tue 24-Jul-18 09:56:17

Wear trainers. Resist the fashion industry. Honestly, nobody cares.

MawBroon Tue 24-Jul-18 09:53:01

Ooh I am getting Pikolinos -get thee behind me temptation!

janeainsworth Tue 24-Jul-18 09:49:26

I’m afraid I can’t help with the shoe question but just wanted to object to the advert that’s now popped up on my screen below the thread - for a podiatrist course, illustrated by a picture of a big toe being punctured by a scalpel ?????
I’m not particularly squeamish but this made me feel sick - GN can’t you control the adverts??????

My Mum buys the wider fitting sandals from JD Williams ...

I bought a super pair of peep toe wedges last year from Hotter - red suede with pom pom and gold linings. So comfortable - I wore them all day. They had them in other colours too - might also be worth trying the Hotter outlet shops as they often have quite a range of shoes from past seasons.
