I'm getting married in 6 weeks and on to my third pair of wedding shoes - all sent back. My problem is I can't do heels any more so I've been looking for sandle wedges with a heel no more than 3 cms. Also so my feet are quite swollen so will need a wide fit. I've tried all the usual suspects M and S, Debenhams, John Lewis and on line from America. All I want is white or Ivory with a bit of bling. I have bough some from Shuropody with the idea of sticking on some diamante but have decided they really are too old fogey - a step too far!!! Ha!. HELP!!!

Fit Flop do very comfortable shoes. I too have problems with my feet, but recently bought a pair of Fit
Flops from John Lewis. They have quite a thick sole and 1.5 to 2 inch heels which I didn't think I'd be able to manage, but are very comfy. Do have a look on their website and/or go to a John Lewis store that does them. Good luck.

Mumski, good luck with your search. I really don't need any shoes, at the moment, so why on earth have I 'wasted' ages looking at, and following the links to all the pretty shoes?

Try Artigiano , Kaleidoscope or Jones bookmaker. I can’t wear heels but have had kitten heels from them.
Congrats

Just got back from work and I'm bowled over by your good wishes and also by the creative and useful ideas you have had. A glass of prosecco is required while I sit down and enjoy going through all your great suggestions. Thank you so must everyone xxx

I tried everywhere for comfortable sandals this year and in desperation, turned to Amazon. I bought two pairs of wedged sandals with elastic straps at the back. They are very pretty and have sparkly crystals. I bought a white pair and a black pair. They were very reasonable too. Might be worth a look. Congratulations, by the way.

I love Hotter shoes too. Agree with J52 that the Betsy in metallic are lovely.

Well have been out all afternoon without luck, ankle hurts now with all the walking and trying on of shoes. You have given me some more places to try thank you ladies so hopefully by the end of the week I will have found something. I also like the belt & braces idea of one pair for photo's and one pair for comfort .

Congratulations & best wishes for your wedding mumski.

What about trying wider fit shoes?

I've bought the Hotter ones as shown above. Normally am not a fan of theirs but the style fits with my 1950's inspired suit. They really encase your foot and make you feel very secure and somehow not as if wearing heels. Normally if I put heels on nowadays I feel very clumsy and somehow far less capable....tis weird.

They are ivory with a bow edged with gold

Congratulations and best wishes for the future mumski hope you find some comfy shoes and enjoy your day ???‍❤️‍?‍?

Are you anywhere near 'old shoe factory' country?
Padders in Kettering and Rieker in Market Harborough have lovely comfy shoes in wide fittings - and Padders will fit special insoles, by taking the original insole out, so you don't lose space in the shoe.
Mail order, try these:
www.marshallshoes.co.uk/waldlaufer-m17. They do different width fittings.

Daftnan Tue 24-Jul-18 14:15:35

Try DB shoes, they have a wide range of widths and styles. Good luck.

Congratulations Mumski!
I too have problems getting comfortable shoes and would go down the “smart for photos and comfy for the rest of the day” route. As others have said - people are far more realistic nowadays! ?

Jalima1108 Tue 24-Jul-18 13:57:03

DH asked me why the shoes I buy always seem comfortable in the shop, but are unwearable when I get them home. hmm
I don't know the answer.

However, I do have to choose shoes for comfort these days. Could you put another pair somewhere handy in case the very smart ones hurt your feet mumski?

Scholl do some gel pads to put under the balls of your feet which could help too.

Good luck and congratulations

What about buying a plain pair and adding your own bling. There are so many crafty items out there nowadays i am sure you would find something suitable.

I struggled to find shoes for my daughter's wedding. I never wear heels and live in trainers but wanted something a wee bit glam. I spent a whole day in the city looking and ordered and returned several pairs on line. I eventually got a really lovely pair by Gabor from Amazon. Small heel bit of sparkle and I was able to wear them all day!
