I wasn't sure whether to start this thread in Style & Beauty or Medical!

It takes a lot of time and money to service a nearly 64-year old body. This week:

Routine bloods
Eye test
Hair cut & root tint
Dental hygienist
Eyebrow wax
Pedicure

A mixture of pain and pleasure smile

(Gawd, 64 does look old when you see it written down grin )

You need all that done at 24 as well, don’t feel bad!!

Well I suppose so muffin but at 24 it wouldn't be so essential!

However, I must say that I'm looking and feeling particularly fit and perky after a week of maintenance smile

No point in my case. I'm just an old banger!

Its all the little things that do not really require professional help as yet......eye brows (just a few strays so do not need anything else. Nose hairs (yuk - but I'm tall so feel the need) Hard skin on feet - little and often seems to work - I'd treat myself to a pedicure more often but its the whole fag of tiptoeing back to car park and driving home that annoys. Same with fingernails...they break and full blown manicures are just a waste of money and I'm always in the garden or crafting so its DIY. Then its keeping up with a few specific exercises, if I don't joints seize and my back can suddenly 'go'. It just all takes time (and energy) and nowadays, remembering!!!

My aunt says its taking her longer and longer to get ready for bed these days.
Take medication.
Put cream on sore bits.
Rub different cream into achy bits.
Dab some bonjela onto sore gum... etc

At 24 I had already not seen my natural hair colour in over a decade. I would have died before I missed getting my roots done ?

I would have missed any medical appointment you could name but those brows were sharp back then!!

I feel I have probably earnt some beauty treatments over the last year, will book myself in for a day of improvement in a few weeks

Maintenance needs longer and longer these days, I agree with Nora Ephron when she said that eachweek she was just a few hours maintenance away from being a bag lady! ???

Another of Nora Ephron's wonderful quotes

“…the amount of maintenance involving hair is genuinely overwhelming. Sometimes I think that not having to worry about your hair anymore is the secret upside of death.” grin
