I keep sewing up the small holes in the seams Lemongrove as I can’t bear the thought of binning it.

Bit similar to you Nan I have a woollen large black and white scarf which is like a shawl, so warm and cosy, I also have an old plum coloured cardi which has become oversized.
The scarf was bought about 40 years ago.

A velvet black and white scarf (zebra design). I think I bought it for a £1 in the charity shop. I wear it most days as it is warm and comforting round my neck. I have a green velvet scarf too. I love the feel of velvet.

I have an old pink bed jacket, only one button left on it. I've had it for donkeys years, it's my comfort blanket. I cuddle it in bed and it goes everywhere with me. I call it my Babadoh.

A big loose and shapeless cardigan and/or a lightweight scarf. Something that will envelop and cuddle me on my own terms.

My old navy blue, chunky knit, bobbled, misshapen, baggy sleeved coatigan is over 10 years old. I'm afraid to wash it now, it's so old. But it's the best thing when I'm sat working from home and I'm too mean to put the heating on.

I have a big 'night dress' made from dressing gown material that I wear over my usual nightdress on cold nights in winter.

I bought it in BHS about 25 years ago and for the last 15 years I have intended to replace it when I see another one like it. I haven't.

I have a short fleece zip up jacket from M & S from centuries ago in raspberry pink.
I wear it for comfort any time I feel the need ... which is often as comfort beats everything these days.
Wish they would repeat the lovely colour and I would replace it.

I've got a pashmina scarf that I bought years ago in a pale peach colour.
Its worn over my shoulders when its chilly when on holiday,it covers my hair from strong sun and worn around my waist as a beach coverup.
During the winter it comes out for around the neck of jumpers & coats I never get tired of it.

Does anyone else have an old item of clothing they simply can’t bear to throw out, because it is so comforting? I have a thick cotton cardigan I bought in Whistles sale years ago, and although it is now so loose I can wrap it round twice I just can’t let it go. It is warm, but not prickly like wool, so I can wear it in the summer as well as the winter. It has been thrown on over a swimsuit, served as a bed jacket and a dressing gown, covered a sleeping child, been sat on at a picnic, and it’s what I wear when the evenings get a bit cooler when I’m reading or watching tv. If I have a cold or I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself it’s what I always pull out of my wardrobe. I’m just packing it to take on a seaside chalet holiday next week, because it goes over everything.
