Hi Sara65! Another Sahara fan here although I buy in the sales if I can. I have to be quick off the mark as the larger sizes go first. The clothes last though so I find the investment worthwhile. Love the linen/cotton mixed in hot weather.

I pick ‘ my’ colours for each season, my autumn/winter colours are purple or lavender + green.

I saw a lady today.....size 16 ish , wearing 3/4 length wide black trousers, a white top an a navy cardigan, a red scarf knotted round her neck....oh and flat pumps. It looked great.

No wonder this poor pensioner has never been in.
It may have wonderful service and lovely fabrics but I'll just have to make do with my finds at charity shops and TKmax

I now know what old lady clothes are!
I bid on Ebay for a gilet to wear in my icy house in the winter. I bid for 4 but the only one I won? and paid £2 for plus postage, has arrived.
Oh dear. It's padded nylon with shiny buttons in pastel blue. Exc con. Deffo OLC.
I swear it looked darker in the photo.
I think other bidders were more discerning. Still, I'll take it into the charity shop to find its next home.

I do think that wishy washy “timid” colours are especially ageing.
Someone I have met recently who I know must be in her 70’s looked fantastic that first day in black skinny jeans, black suede ankle boots, a bright red jacket and a black “baker boy” cap. Next time I saw her she was wearing a greeny grey jumper and just looked 10 years older ?

Beige or grey anoraks and those shapeless embroidered T shirts that are worn loose over a skirt or trousers. I actually have an example of each in my wardrobe, but have caught myself before going out in them!

I use Oatly too Alexa - and if you spill it on beige slacks, it blends in well

Where what you want with joy and who cares what others think. This thread seems very Hyacinth Bucket and she always tried too hard. Perhaps that is what we are seeing here too.

According to Colour people everyone can wear purple. If certainly suits me and I'm not an old lady - I'm only 70 for goodness sake!

What's wrong with purple? Where did your mum get her purple fleece trousers, discodiva? They sound just the thing for those cold winter mornings.
At 78 I like to coordinate what I'm wearing; dislike clashing accessories. I admit to having a bright red cross-body bag - so much easier to manage if you are also trying to cope with an umbrella and a walking stick. Also a matter of security. I have to wait for winter weather to wear my red suede boots; love my red loafers, but I've a swelling on my left instep and they're not so comfortable now. I don't indulge in my teenage GD's fad - unmatched socks. Well, not intentionally.

There’s no hope for me, I bought a pair of jeans at Bon Marche yesterday and signed up for their loyalty card. I think a cross-body bad is much safer (and less ageing) than a blooming great solid leather handbag carried on one’s wrist like Mrs Thatcher did. Probably get lynched for this but judging by how many of us wear a poncho maybe they should be classed as old lady’s wear.

I'm 72 and currently wearing a very jazzy multi-coloured jersey over a bright orange polo neck with a black skirt. My hair is pale green and I'm wearing an embroidered pill-box hat and long, rainbow socks.

I wear this lot, and other fairly unconventional things not because I'm 72 but because I like them and don't give a flying fig what anyone else thinks is fashionable.
