Anything made by Triumph will do the trick.

Panache and Fantasied make great bras and are not too expensive. They have an elastic lace on the cup to fit beautifully if one side is larger than the other (which will be most of us!).

Bravissimo are brilliant are getting your right size, start there and once you know your correct size you can also order online. I thought I was a 34B and actually turned out to be 30F! Not a great size to find in most shops!

Looking online, while Bravissimo do large cup sizes, they don't appear to go above a size 40 in a back size. Which is disappointing. (I'll be pleased to hear from GNs if I am wrong about this.)

Fantasie make excellent bras. It’s case of finding one that fits your shape, Debenhams have a good bra fitting service.

Yet another vote for Bravissimo. I didn’t think they could possibly “fit” you by a phone conversation but it worked perfectly for me. All my bras are now from Bravissimo, some their own brand, some are other brands. Not cheap but they wash well and last a long time so worth it.

Lovely ladies, thank you for all your helpful suggestions. I will explore!x

Bravissimo will give you a very thorough measurement over the phone if you do not have a shop nearby. They will then send you the bra they think will work best for you & you can return it FOC if it is not right. TBH I have never had to return one as they have always been just perfect.

It depends on the size I think.
For large cup sizes (I've said this before I'm afraid), I am a big Ptima Donna fan.

VERY expensive but high-quality and long lasting (when washed by hand). Some styles go up to an i cup and they are usually in a number of colours, not just white.

I only have to buy about one new one a year as I can still wear some that are pretty old. They do relax as the elastane wears but even the old ones are still better than any other brands I've tried. This is because of the fit, which is just right for me.

I do opt for an underwire - but can honestly say it's really comfortable as it fits so nicely. I don't get on with M&S bras which although I've been "fitted" there, never fit me properly. I wouldn't risk the pull-on sort as I would be flopping everywhere as I too need lots of support.

Prima Donna always look great on, (dare I say, even pretty or sexy) and some styles come back year after year in new colours each season.

Both my large-busted older daughters have also moved into the Prima Donna range as must be similar shape to me (sigh!). The younger one likes the "Twist" styles as they are a younger look I think.

Might be worth exploring them if you have a larger cup size.

As I said, VERY expensive. Probably £55 - £95 depending on style at a guess.

M&S flexifit are supersoft to wear, wide at the sides and come in a range of colours, most are £20. they are the only bra's i can wear all day.

I have just found the perfect bra in M&S. £20. No padding. No wiring. They advertise it as "you are not aware you are wearing a bra". Now my daughter has started wearing that model too.

And another vote for Bravissimo.

Another vote for Bravissimo. Also, if you’re on Facebook, look for the Boob or Bust page. They offer an alternative way of measuring and I found it really worked for me. Lots of lovely ladies on there who can offer advice - note I didn’t say support ?

Another Bravissimo customer here.

John lewis are good at fitting!

See if there is a Bravissimo shop somewhere near you. They are experts at getting you properly fitted. The correct size is vital.

I find Triumph Armourette very good. Is the size you are using too small at the moment? I moved from a 36 to a 38 and that solved that problem.

Sure there will be some good recommendations along shortly @Mtc59. In the meantime here's page on bras which might be helpful.

Any recommendations for pretty and supportive bras that hold in those awful underarm and back fat bits?
