Do you have a little black dress in your wardrobe and what do you wear with it. I like to jazz mine up with jewellery or a bright jacket/bolero in red, turquoise, gold, emerald green etc.
What works for you?

I do, although at my size, it can hardly be described as 'little' grin.

It is plain with a V-neck and I wear a smart pearl brooch, given by my daughter in law, at that V. Tiny pearl studs for my ears.

No black looks dreadful on me, but I do have a navy silk dress.

A little black dress? - gosh no - nothing remotely as posh as that!!!!

Bridgeit Fri 27-Mar-20 17:27:40

Black yes,Little No?

M0nica Fri 27-Mar-20 17:24:10

No, and never have, black makes me look as if I am attending my own funeral, so I avoid wearing it, except in exceptional circumstances.

Like aggie autumnal colours look best on me

I have never fitted into a "little" anything , black or any other colour !

I love black dresses from Wallis I have 2 a black wrap dress and a fit and flare one both are so versatile. I've worn them to work, evenings out and with sandles in the summer www.wallis.co.uk/en/wluk/product/black-halter-neck-drape-maxi-dress-9605800
I usually wear the black dresses with a big bangle or bracelet Im not one for fussy necklaces I bought this one here and it goes so well with my dresses www.demiandco.com/products/camilla-wide-gold-cuff-bangle

Funny isn't it my mum couldn't wear black at all.

Susie42 Sun 15-Mar-20 13:48:21

No, I look as if I'm ready to meet my maker.

I've got 5! 2 with straight skirts, long sleeves and different necklines, 1 sleeveless ankle length, 1 long sleeved, v-necked full skirt 1 similar in velvet. Always loved black dresses bought my first one when I was 18.

Nope, never wanted one, I prefer some colour in a dress, black makes me think of funerals.

When I was younger I used to love black. When I lived at home my mother never liked it and thought it was 'too old' for me. Somehow as I have got older it doesn't seem to suit me as much. I look older and a bit drained in black so I now only wear it for funerals. I can wear dresses with a black base though, so they have to have a coloured small flower or something in them. I go for brighter colours now which is quite funny as my mother would have loved to have seen me in them when I was younger and almost always wanted to go our wearing black.

Purplepixie Sat 14-Mar-20 20:41:26

Yes, quite a few as I love them. smile

FlexibleFriend Sat 14-Mar-20 20:26:24

No I don't own a dress in any colour, trousers all the way for me.

Curlywhirly Sat 14-Mar-20 19:47:49

Yes, I have a few - I wear loads of black and really should try to bring more colour into my wardrobe, but being olive skinned and brown eyed, I always feel black suits me and feel comfortable in it. I do try to jazz it up though with jewellery and bright scarves.

phoenix Sat 14-Mar-20 19:44:54

Yes I do, and it's currently *too" little!

Treebee Sat 14-Mar-20 19:41:49

Yes, I have one. I bought it for a funeral in 2002 and keep it for future funerals. Black drains me of colour so I don’t wear it otherwise.

EllanVannin Sat 14-Mar-20 19:36:17

Black doesn't bode so well with me it makes me look as though I've been dug up. Like grey does on some people.

Blue or emerald green is my colour.

MiniMoon Sat 14-Mar-20 19:10:45

Mine has a black sequined sleeve. Its difficult to wear jewellery with. I have several pairs of pretty dangly earrings that I wear with it.

I have a full length black lacy dress too. It is rather formal, and I wear a red, black and gold shawl with it.

NotAGran55 Sat 14-Mar-20 19:04:02

Nope . I’m autumn colouring and black doesn’t suit me .

Missfoodlove Sat 14-Mar-20 18:54:42

Oh yes! Purchased at M&S Oxford St in 1994!
It saw me through the early days of a pregnancy and numerous cocktail parties, dinners and special occasions.
Best £25 I ever spent.

SalsaQueen Sat 14-Mar-20 18:52:31
