I've taken the lockdown opportunity to grow my roots out. I've been dying my hair light auburn for about 10 year, back then I remember thinking I had a lot of white grey through my strawberry blonde hair.
I used vitamin C and Head and Shoulder to lift most of the auburn dye which left my hair blondy orange (!) the intention being that it would blend into what was looking from the initial regrowth at the front to be pure white.
BUT as it grows out to about an inch and a half the back is dark grey, the front is white and my roots are PINK! At first I thought it was the vitamin c or the lemon juice I also but on the front. My partner noticed that the couple of inches below that is also looking pink as the hair that was most lightly dyed fades.
On closer inspection, some of the hair is grey and some is pinky-red, not like my natural colour at all!
So my plan of going to my hairdresser when he reopens and simply having blonde pulled through the dyed part is not going to work.
Has anyone else had this? What are my options (not compete recolouring) - are there specialist grey transition salons? If so, any recommendations?
First world problems at this point in history I know, but I am constantly on Zoom and I expect at some point will need to start going to meetings again so I need to not look so brightly stripey :-)
