Leggings

I have been looking for leggings for DD and myself which would suit our very apple shape middles! The trouble we have is that most of the pairs have waistbands that roll in half and dig in, leaving an unsightly roll of tummy. Does anyone have recommendations for some with a more comfortable and forgiving, less deep waistband please.

All I see in these leggings are the wrong-shaped women wearing them !

Not M & S ones. I wear them for dance classes and the wide waist band is horrible.

Sainsburys range of clothing used to do a decent legging with a bit more stretch.

Look for maternity ones, a lovely supportive band across the tummy.

Agree with Evie64, the Sainsbury's Tu range of leggings are very good; wide waistband and quite a heavy weight fabric. Good value for money too.

Most women look awful in leggings. They always seem to highlight the least flattering aspects unless you are perfect.

In my opinion, legging must be one of the more ugly garments ever made. Nobody looks good in them. (think Max Wall).

Get some flattering trousers of jeans instead.

I'm apple-shaped and wear bootcut styles. I wouldn't ever wear leggings.

Top Shop leggings wash well and have a thin waistband, be careful though as they do have a wide waistband range also.

Leggings should be under a tunic or dress IMO then it doesn’t matter about tummy rolls!

I got spine fractures and lost height so have protruding stomach but I'm short with size 10 legs. I now take all the elastic out of waistbands and replace with 1 inch wide to fit my middle.

Sainsbury's get my vote, too.

Tu at Sainsburys or Peacocks both with 5% elastine both are really good fits and wash well and keep shape.

I think leggings can look good with dresses and skirts particularly if you have snow white legs such as I have. I haven't tried them yet because I thought they may be very hot in the summer, but might give Sainsbury ones a go.

I have some high waisted Proskins which are so comfortable I could wear them every day. They don't roll down over my stomach which unfortunately has expanded immensely over lockdown hmm. I always wear a long top over any leggings though as I think it looks more flattering.

Thankyou for the suggestions. I too only wear leggings under long tops but dont like the bulge at the waist if they dig in too much. I havent heard of Proskins so will look at those and Tu.

Asda have jeggings with high wide waistband, very comfy.

I wear mine with a short(ish) skirt in Winter, with ankle boots. Not for me in Summer.

Sea salt are very comfy leggings, ...I wear them but only with dresses or tunics,
