My "Nora Batties" - nice shoe styles to hide 'em?

Thanks to swollen legs from kidney disease, I find myself wearing knee length compression stockings. Not only are they uncomfortable in hot weather and the very devil to get off, they are UGLY! especially since I wear the open toe ones, having large feet and arthritic toes. I'm sure I am not alone - so does anyone have any tips on nice shoe styles etc.?

I wear these too and you have my sympathy.
I always wear trousers and try to wear high fronted shoes or ankle boots whenever I can. Hotter pixie are my favourites.
One trick, which may of course fool nobody, is to wear a pair of black, dark brown or navy pop socks over your compression socks. You could wear ordinary socks but I would find them too thick. This works in winter- so roll on the colder weather!
I also wear trainers a lot, like these by Caprice but these blue shoes by Rieker are my current favourites as they hide just about everything

Those Rieker ones are very nice. I always find Rieker shoes just suit my feet somehow. Must get Googling. Excuse me...

I like the look of the Rieker shoes too. I am having awful pain walking with a bunion on my left foot, as well as osteo arthritis and I'm looking for extreme comfort and never mind how 'elderly' they look!

I wear those open toe compression stockings when my RA is bad. I hate the look, that's why I live in trousers.
