Bought myself one today on the advice of my daughter! I absolutely love it and it will go with so many things.
Makes me feel young and trendy again!
I’m 66 and a size 14!
Anyone else got one?

Gosh, I really want one now, really like light blue and would be able to go without a bag due to the pockets. Shopping trip needed smile

Look for one with a bit of stretch, so much more comfortable and fits well.

A French neighbour of BiL’s (in France) who we’ve known for over 10 years now, almost always wears a light blue one, with a calf-length dress or skirt, and always look great.
She’s in her mid 70s.

One of BiL’s regular guests (a man) once said ‘She’s the most elegant woman I’ve ever met.’

Go for it, OP!

I'm 86 and still wear denim. My jacket is an absolute favourite.
I don't care about age. Just wear what you want.

Hi there
I don’t have a Jean jacket as such but I do have 3 jackets in the shape of a Jean jacket in a softer fabric from Roman Originals …

Kettlewell Colours do a nice jacket called Chloe but they are around £129.00 so don’t think I’ll be buying one full price now

I long for a denim jacket, but at nearly eighty I really do feel I am too old.

Justbee, keep it, wear it and enjoy it! Lots of older women wear puffer jackets, I do and I am 68 and not I frump. Well, I don't I think I am.

If you like it Justbee keep it and wear it. I suspect your DD said that so she could get her hands on it smile

I have 3 Denim jackets, denim, white and pink. They go with so many outfits, summer dresses and skirts etc.

I am 78 and I wear my blue denim one all year round, it looks good has lots of pockets and hides my batwing arms! I don’t think it will ever wear out either.

Do you think that a white puffer jacket is not suitable for an over 60 woman .Received it as a Christmas present..My 32 year old daughter has her eye on it ..She thinks the style is too young for me as it is not fitted ..Should I give it to her..I tried it on and it feels cosy and warm..hmm

I love my denim jacket, bought from Fat Face last year. 😊

I find the good thing about growing old is I don’t care what people think about my clothes. I love bright colours and wear them most of the time. I have just bought in the Sale from Sahara a bright spotty top described as a winter constellation, star like design.

Denim jackets 👍

Mine 2 sizes too small but I wear it over dresses in the summer and love it . I want another one in a pale colour or even white, I don't think you're ever too old if something suits you. My 70 year old friend wears mini skirts with thick tights, I don't think that's a good look even though she is very slim.

Love dusky pink ones or white but gave my denim blue one away

My friend who is a size 20/22 has one. Seeing photos of her in it in a pretty maxi dress made me think about getting one . I am really pleased I did as I foresee lots of opportunities to wear it.
Never too old.

I am 75 and have had my size 18 denim jacket for ages and I love it tchsmile

Modern denim jackets are so different from those of our youth.

I love my White Stuff ones ( other brands are available), the stretch in them makes them so comfortable to wear and the length is perfect.

Last year I saw a denim jacket in a shop, looked ok and tried it on, thought hmmm no I'm too old (67 then) so put it back.

I came out of the shop and I kid you not every woman and her handbag had a denim jacket on, all different shades of denim, stone washed, pale green etc. These ladies/girls were all different ages, sizes, a real mixture, I sat down for a while just to take note and they all look fab.

But I never went back for the jacket, maybe because earlier in the year I hade sent an unworn white one with lovely blue flowered lining and a denim one with nice flowery lining, I had bought them from Edenborough Woollen mill they were very cheap in the sale, maybe that is why I bought them, but they had hung in the wardrobe for over 5 yrs unworn.

Maybe this year 2024 could be "my" denim jacket year lol

Bought a pink denim jacket last summer. I never thought it would be a thing I would wear at any age, and certainly not pink, but I fell in love with it and have had many compliments when I’ve worn it.

I don’t think I’ve ever stopped wearing a denim jacket, a useful item.

Now I’m swithering over a biker jacket, I do like the look of them but I’m just not sure if I’ll look daft.

hollysteers Sun 24-Dec-23 01:44:51

Not denim, but I persuaded my sister to buy a black leather (plether) biker style jacket, said she was too old. She reluctantly did so and now lives in it. I wear mine with a black fur gilet over it in this weather and it works well!

henetha Sat 23-Dec-23 23:46:11

I bought a new denim jacket last summer. I don't care what people think, I just love wearing it.

Oreo Sat 23-Dec-23 21:01:47

I don’t think it’s an age thing, it’s just a jacket after all.
More down to how you actually look in one, if in doubt try one on and look in the store mirror with a critical eye.😲

I have a pink one and a light denim one . I wear them all the time in summer . The up to date ones are much more comfortable than the original ones because the denim is stretchy now . So definitely go for it !
